It does, though I just had the thought we might collectively have become the real-world equivalent of the characters in Umberto Eco's critique of deconstructionism disguised as an adventure novel, Foucault's Pendulum, who manage to find arcane meanings connected to the Knights Templar in a medieval shopping list.
