Revel my guess is natural gas pipelines. In the 60's there was one huge line that ran from Texas to Stockbridge, Georgia. I haven't been there in years so not sure if it is still there.

It looked just like the picture and ended in Stockbridge. The pipe was about 6 feet tall. This is how they could hit all red states. TIN FOIL TIME more coffee.
