...salt domes....strategic oil supply.... Are geologic structures thousands of feet below the ground (and much deeper in the gulf. A terror attack there would only damage the injection/extraction wells and not endanger any one except on the rig. Just in case you weren't aware, the strategic oil supply is not like the oil tanks seen by refineries.
