Houston Ship Channel gives commercial vessels access to the port of Houston. I've been there a few times, but I've never seen the channel myself. Brownsville has been devastated in the past by accidents, but I don't know their current level of protection against such things.
Thanks, wasn't sure if it handled commerical vessels or not, having never been there. I'm used to Puget Sound - long ways away from Houston.
