The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

this is what people in Beslan remember happened just before the barbarians perpetrated their massacre.

Looking back, they realized WHY their Muslims neighbors had suddenly been leaving the area...

This activity may be the best warning we will have...It's something they evidently do - warn the Muslims, as it is a strick law with them not to kill other Muslims...

Why are we not being shown the new video?

Arafat's impending death is given as the reason for the delay. I don't understand why his demise would impact on the showing of an OBL tape....unless maybe TPTB think that so many Palestinians would riot and/or mourn--that there would be just too much chaos in the ME. Plus, we are preparing to take Fallujah. Iran is making shrill death to America threats.


Perhaps there is just too much chaos to permit the tape to be aired---but I DO want to know what it says!

A new Iraqi organization calling itself "CBD" has declared the beginning of the planning to blow up the American General's and other personnel houses in America.

This is where they underestimate the American will. I cannot believe they are stupid enough to even try this. It will give us a reason to wipe them out in the whole country and anyone who looks like one. Which is really sad and I mean that.

I don't have a problem with ANYONE who wants to legally work and better themselves.

I pray they don't think we are like other countries that will lay down to there attempt of show of power, I personally will die first.

Insurgents Continue to Discuss new Bin Laden Video


Talk is still just beginning to circulate Jihadi message boards regarding the new Osama Bin Laden video. As we have said earlier, the video does appear to be online somewhere for a few Jihadi's to view. They are just beginning to comment on the release of this video.

Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades

The Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades were formed at some point after the death of Mohammed Atef, a relative by marriage of Osama Bin Laden and at one point the second in command of Al Qaeda. Mohammed Atef, who used Abu Hafs as an alias and was nicknamed al-Masri (meaning "the Egyptian" in reference to his country of birth), was killed by a US Hellfire missile fired from a Predator drone in Afghanistan on November 15th of 2001.

The Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades appears to be one of the more active offshoots of Al Qaeda. Most of their claims have proved to be unsubstantiated, such as the August 5th bombing of the Marriott Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia, and the blackout on August 14th of 2003 that struck the north-eastern US. However, they have claimed responsibility for other actions that have not yet been disproven, such as the August 19th, 2003 bombing of UN Headquarters in Iraq and November 15th, 2003 suicide car bomberings of two synagogues in Istanbul, Turkey. They also received worldwide attention when they claimed responsibility for the March 11th train bombings in Madrid, Spain.

Has anyone heard that the "new" OBL video shows alqaeda supporters surrounding him, brandishing weapons? I read that somewhere last night, but not sure where. Over on the news thread about the new tape- someone said Fox has aired a pic showing jihadi's with missile launchers standing near OBL.
