It would impact supplies, but not shut down travel within the country. There are many other refineries throughout the country as regional suppliers. But there would undoubtely be an impact to the Dow just as after 911. Depending upon the scope and success of an attack.

The effect would be more emotional than anything else. It would increase the jitters of people who don't realize we have alternatives, and the repercussions on the source would be far worse than anything they could do to us.

I noticed that graphic as well. Fat chance sheet heads.
I would sign up but I think they are immediately banning anyone new. Plus, once you sign up won't they have your IP address?

I'm not versed enough to know if they could get my IP address from my internal network. I believe it would just show up as the network extension IP, but I'm not going to chance it.

Just wish I could show them my pretty little picture of the Ka'aba in flames....

Thanks.

Once again ths Saudis are identified as the root cause, financing and spreading the cancer called islam.

George Bush HAS to get on the stick and start an energy independence program as a matter of National Security.

We are literally paying the Saudis to kill us every time we go to the pump.

And the oil companies wouldn't capitalize on it, right?

You're welcome.

OPINION: Actually Sarah, George Bush has got "on the stick" early in his first term in office trying to get drilling going in a desolate area in Alaska, plus other energy proposals. Nothing happened.

It's time for congress to act on his energy plans.

The effect would be more emotional than anything else.

The primary purpost of terror is to terrorize. An attack on a major petro-chemical complex with nearby residental and high casuality potential is a serious threat.

Ummm, I'd like to second that. It's a fact. Congress held that up, not the President. Hopefully Congress will act this time and actually allow some bills to pass.

Your point is well taken.

I believe he needs to REALLY make it a National Security point.

To paraphrase Reagan's famous off the cuff remark "We've just outlawed arab and muslim oil forever, the drilling begins in five minutes."

He can create our shortest Executive Order "We're drilling, get out of the way."

:-)

Short and to the point can be very good at times.

I agree Sarah.

Taquiya Alert:

Tehran agrees to nuclear freeze

Ian Traynor in Zagreb and Kasra Naji in Tehran
Monday November 8, 2004

The European powers secured a pledge from Iran at the weekend that Tehran would halt its uranium enrichment programme within weeks, an agreement that may avert a showdown later this month between Iran and the west.

Did you hear about the low flying plane on Fox11LA news?
Apparently no planes are missing.

Wasn't it just one week ago the Iranian "parliament" was vowing to continue it's nuke program while chanting "Death to America"?

This incident was barely mentioned by the MSN.
