The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

Yes it was the same thing and you have to read the news in Philly between the lines of the democrat/unionized context to extract any truth from it. And you have to realize when truth is politically squelched. And you have to recognize when it is squelched to keep ripples of panic from forming. Philly is a city of 4 million with a highly reactive and volatile population like most large Northeast cities and a highly reactive and volatile oil refinery in the locale of the device which was placed there unknown to the railway folks.

I drove my husband to the airport before dawn this morning.

We live in the higher Black Hills. As we reached a point on the highway where the road overlooks Rapid City below, that's exactly what the city looked like......a "lawn of golden jewels". Any city at night, viewed from the air, would look the same.

Just a random thought.

The terrorist network led by Osama bin Laden struck deals in 'blood diamonds' worth over $20 million in the months before the attacks of 11 September 2001.

Revel my guess is natural gas pipelines. In the 60's there was one huge line that ran from Texas to Stockbridge, Georgia. I haven't been there in years so not sure if it is still there.

It looked just like the picture and ended in Stockbridge. The pipe was about 6 feet tall. This is how they could hit all red states. TIN FOIL TIME more coffee.

By the way, 47th 212 f17 - In NYC, the F train stops at 47th street, but I don't know what the 17 would be in that case, unless it's 5:00 in 24-hour world.

What Happens if a Pipeline is Damaged? If a pipeline is damaged, natural gas could escape causing fires, explosions or asphyxiation.

The front page of the Wall Street Journal ran a story on August 1, 2001 entitled "Pipeline Explosions Have Industry, Energy Regulators Under Fire" which states that "the U.S. agency that inspects pipelines lacks trained manpower, reliable data on accidents and the will to crack down on unsafe practices before deadly blasts occur. The pipeline industry has resisted calls from the National Transportation Safety Board and others for mandatory periodic inspections of pipelines and national employee-training standards." In the past 15 years, 3184 natural gas pipeline incidents have killed 328 people and caused $488 million in damage.

Over 2.1 million miles of pipelines run across our country, many of them running under our cities, towns, neighborhoods and even our playgrounds.

In the last 10 years there were 2241 major pipeline accidents resulting 226 deaths, $700 million in property damage and damage to the environment.

In 2000 alone there were six pipeline accidents. The accidents occured in Knoxville, Tennessee, Bellingham, Washington, in which three young men were tragically killed, Winchester, Kentucky, Greenville, Texas, Chalk Point, Maryland and Carlsbad, New Mexico, in which 12 people died. Pipeline explosions can happen at any time anywhere in the country.

Will more pipelines explode in the future? Maybe. Our current pipeline system is already old and is aging with every year that passes. 24 percent of gas pipelines are now more than 50 years old. In the case of the Carlsbad pipeline, the section of pipeline that exploded killing 12 people was almost 50 years old and suffered from substantial internal corrosion. The National Transportation Safety Board found that it had never been properly inspected.
