Where, he wonders, are the American Civil Liberties Union lawsuits and the public indignation so often unleashed on any expression of Christian faith in the public schools?

The ACLU? Is this man so naive as to think that the ACLU would do anything about this? Their entire purpose seems to be to destroy all vestiges of Christianity in this country.

I always say that if Christianity is beaten down here as much as the ACLU wants it to be, islam will ride into the vacuum.

And the ACLU will be leading the charge.

It's no accident that the ACLU shares as one of its founders someone who also helped found the Socialist Party of the USA. That man was Norman Thomas (and I keep saying this too, that man's grandson is Evan Thomas, one of Newsweek's prominent editors...)

Norman Thomas wrote several books on politics, including Is Conscience a Crime? (1927), As I See It (1932), A Socialist Faith (1951), The Test of Freedom (1954), The Prerequisites of Peace (1959) and Socialism Re-examined (1963).

Thanks fullwave. I was wondering if they might have something planned for the 'Night of Power,' which falls on Thursday 11/11.

http://www.30-days.net/email99/day27.htm

As Muslims faithfully observe the month of Ramadan, one night stands alone in significance - the Night of Power. On this night of the 27th day of Ramadan is remembered each year as the night when Muhammed received the first revelation of the Qur’an in a cave on Mount Hira, near Mecca in the year AD610.

Today, many Muslims think this is a special night when God gives heed to their requests. Often they are open to dreams and visions as they seek for guidance and revelation. Many Muslims pray all night seeking a response to specific requests. One common belief is that angels will shower down the peace and blessings of God on all who remain awake during this ‘night of power’. According to the Qur’an, God either listens directly or via the angel Gabriel, to the requests of Muslims concerning their fate.

As Muhammed had his destiny fulfilled by receiving the revelation of the Qur’an on this night, Muslims also call this the “Night of Destiny”. This night seems equally important among orthodox Muslims and in Folk Islam. It is on this night, and during the following weeks, that many Muslims have had supernatural encounters with God.

Researchers contend that 80% of new Christians in South Asia come to Christ as a direct result of supernatural encounters. More than half of new believers in Iran have had a dream or vision of Jesus and at least 35% of all recent Turkish conversions were in response to a dream and/or vision. In most cases, these supernatural encounters are in relation to a specific need or answer to prayer and are the result of years of prayer and labour by God’s people, including martydom. Often, a Muslim has heard the message of Jesus or even read parts of the Bible. While not all Muslims experience dreams or visions of Jesus, the supernatural is very much an accepted part of life.

There are many stories throughout the Bible where God spoke through a dream or vision. (Genesis 41, Genesis 46:2 & 3, Daniel 4, Judges 7:10-15, Ezekiel 11:24, Matthew 2:12, 19, Acts 10:3-20, Revelation 1:1). In many of these cases the end result was for the purpose of salvation or physical safety. Ramadan is a strategic time for Christians to believe that God would sovereignly reveal Himself to those who do not yet know Him.

--

Prayer Guide:

*

Pray for a supernatural move of God to reveal Jesus to many Muslims on this night. (Isaiah 52:10, 59:1)

*

Pray against the powers of darkness that would seek to cause false dreams and counterfeit experiences. (Epheses 6:12, Psalm 44:4-7)

*

Pray that Christians working among Muslims would make the most of this unique opportunity to share the Good News. (Matthew 3:16 & 17)

More on the night of power.

When is Laylatu-el-Qadr?

Ibn Abbas reported that the prophet (pbuh), said:

"Seek the Night of Power on the last ten nights of Ramadan, on the night when nine or seven or five nights remain out of the last ten nights of Ramadan"

Alright, I had this page translated by a program. (The post by Tigger.) It is pretty lengthy. I briefly read through it and did not see anything threatening, but like I said, it was brief. I could post it but I also could freepmail it if anybody wants the translated page. Let me know.

List of Islamic Battles fought During Ramadan

* 624 - Battle of Badr. On 17 Ramadan, the Prophet Muhammad led his forces in Arabia to victory over Makkan idolaters. "The great battle of Badr" or "Conquest of Mecca", was the first battle between believers and infidels.
* 627 - The Battle of the Ditch. Muslims trained for this battle during Ramadan, though it occurred in the following month of Shawal.
* 630 - Battle of Tabouk (also called the Battle of Tabuk). The soldiers of Islam, under the leadership of the Prophet Mohammed, established a training and fighting camp in Tabouk during the month of fasting, and attacked the Byzantine army.
* 653 - Conquest of Rhodes. Muslims plundered the Colossus of Rhodes, melted it and turned it into arms for the soldiers.
* 710 - Muslims led by Tarek bin Ziyad, invaded Spanish southern frontier cities on the Andalusian coast defeating King Roderick. They stayed for eight hundred years, disseminating Islam. From there, Islam spreads out through Europe.
* 1187 - Battle of Hattin. Took place at dawn -- after the Night of Power (Lailat ul-Qadr); a night during the last ten days of Ramadan when tradition says that the angel Gabriel descended and God called Muhammad to be His messenger. (It is sometimes translated as the Night of Destiny.) Sultan Saladin (Salah Al-Din Al-Ayubi) wiped out the Frankish army and went on to reclaim Jerusalem for Islam. The battle took place on July 4.
* 1948 - Israeli War of Independence. Fighting took place over two Ramadans.
* 1962 to 1970 - Yemeni Civil War. Fighting continued through nine Ramadans.
* 1973 - Ramadan War (Elsewhere known as the Yom Kippur War). Egypt and Syria launched their attack on Israel it was called Operation Badr, and foot soldiers were given religious slogans. The Yom Kippur War is also known as the 6th of October war of 1973 and the 10th of Ramadan War.
* 1975 to 1990 - Lebanon's civil war. Fighting took place over the course of seventeen Ramadans.
* 1981 - Iran rejected Iraqi offers for a Ramadan cease-fire.
* 1982 - Iran launched an attack on Iraq that they explicitly called "Operation Ramadan."
* 1986 - Christian forces called for a Ramadan cease-fire, which lasted two weeks.
* 1987 - Iran again rejected Iraqi offers for a Ramadan cease-fire.
* 1987 to 1993 - The first Palestinian Intifada was waged over six Ramadans.
* 1990s - There were at least 20 examples of Ramadan violence by Muslims during the Algerian civil war.
* 2000 - Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee stated that India would initiate a unilateral cease-fire in observance of the holy month of Ramadan as a step towards peace in Kashmir. Nonetheless, widespread fighting continued between Indian forces and the guerrillas in Jammu-Kashmir.
* 2000 - Al-Qaida operatives tried to bomb a U.S. destroyer, USS The Sullivans, in the harbor at Aden, Yemen. It was the Night of Power. The suicide boat was overloaded with explosives and sank.
* 2000 - Al-Qaida successfully bombs the USS Cole in the same harbor at Aden.
* 2003 - After the 2003 Iraq war, suicide bombers struck at four locations, including the Red Cross headquarters, killing at least 35 people.

Preliminary thoughts on the latest jabber from the Tigster:

"Castle walls cracked ... they wait to see" - the target is already infiltrated and they're waiting for the go signal

"Snakes crawl west and the bird flys again" - Saw a video of Adnan referring to jumper cables as snakes, so could be power lines from a plant or to a target.

"Full moon over the river of red" - Texarkana is home to the Red River Arsenal (I remember because my grandmother worked their during WWII). Check on globalsecurity.org, and it is still operational as a depot.

47th 212 fl7 - Quick check shows Continental airlines has a flight #7 from San Antonio to Houston, arriving at 9:30 AM.Still pinging the other numbers for a reference.

It's no wonder our media (all realms) are so biased. CNN had such great potential and it is now a joke due to the leftist leanings of Turner and his ex-wife. Dan Blather proved his network is in collusion with the left and the others follow suit. Most of the magazines are filled with political propaganda. It's no wonder we have to rely on FR and other web-based news sources for fair reporting. Thank God we have these avenues of free speech (JR take note - we are appreciative!).

Thanks for pointing that out! We made the mistake of indicating it was 11-9. It should be noted that Ramadan 27 is indeed, 11-11.

See the following:

Seek the Night of Power on the last ten nights of Ramadan, on the night when nine or seven or five nights remain out of the last ten nights of Ramadan"

Wouldn't that make potential dates 11/7, 11/9 and 11/11?

USS Cole plot began after embassy attacks, investigator says
December 2000

<snip>

'Night of power'

Word of the closeness in time of the Nairobi attack and the planning of the USS Cole operation comes as the United States braces for more terrorism against its interest in the Middle East and Western Europe as the final days of the Muslim holy month Ramadan approach.

U.S. officials said the volume of information about fundamentalist Islamic terrorist threats to U.S.-related targets is "very high" and "approaching the level" of the Millennium period, when a number of alleged terrorist plots were uncovered. In particular, officials said they are concerned about the danger of terrorism in Turkey and Jordan.

Officials said Wednesday they are particularly concerned about December 23, which this year marks the Islamic "night of power," when the first verses of the Koran were revealed to the prophet Mohammed.

The last time the event was commemorated, on January 3, 2000, an unsuccessful attempt was made to bomb the Navy destroyer USS The Sullivans in Aden, Yemen. The attempt failed when the attack boat, loaded with explosives, sank in the harbor.

Ramadan ends about December 26.

Pentagon officials confirmed this week that security had been increased at U.S. military facilities in Naples and Gaeda, Italy, and that the aircraft carrier USS Truman had been ordered to cancel a port call in Naples and go to Greece instead.

I think it would. It seems as if the 'usual' date of this night is the 27th of Ramadan though.

From December 2001...

On Alert for a 'Night of Power'
The Director of Homeland Security warns, "This is not the time to stand down"

Al Qaeda may be all but whipped in Afghanistan, but U.S. authorities are no less worried. Tom Ridge, the director of Homeland Security, issued another of his nonspecific-threat alerts last week, warning: "This is not the time to stand down."

Especially not this week. For extremist Muslims, Wednesday is the 27th night of Ramadan, the holy month on Islam's lunar calendar. Called the "Night of Power," it marks the date in 610 when the first verses of the Quran were revealed to the prophet Muhammad. It is a time of Allah's maximum forgiveness--when, among other things, the sin of a suicide bomber is most likely to be washed away.

Faiz Rehman of the American Muslim Council in Washington, D.C., dismisses the idea that terrorists would choose a date for its religious significance. "They do something when it's easiest to do," he says, pointing out that "September 11 has no meaning in Islam." But the Night of Power seems to have symbolic value for bin Laden and his associates. Around the end of Ramadan nearly two years ago, the terror network planned a millennial spectacular, with bombing attacks on Los Angeles International Airport, a U.S. destroyer in Aden and tourist sites in Jordan. All three plots were thwarted, but at least one was planned for the 27th of Ramadan, says author Peter Bergen.

What form might any new attack take? U.S. intelligence sources say that little has emerged from Afghanistan to demonstrate that Al Qaeda has actually succeeded in constructing a nuclear or "radiological" bomb. Instead, America's top terror experts say the likeliest kind of attack would be a conventional assault by suicide bombers in a crowded place.
