Yup, Senator Edwards speaks. SoreLoserman II begins tonight, but I'm not waiting!
Congratulations President Bush!!
It's all over but the crying for the SoreLosermen!!
And now it's time for us to start planning the Free Republic George W. Bush Inaugural Ball II!
I've had Kristinn checking venues and prices and we're in the process of getting a proposal from the Wyndham City Center Hotel in Washington, DC (the other Wyndham that we used last time is already booked).
The costs have more than doubled from our first ball, so we're estimating the price per person will have to be in the neighborhood of $175 per person. We'll also have to move fast on this. We'll need to make a quick decision as soon after the elections results are official as we possibly can and then we'll need to quickly raise the funds to put up the required deposit.
So, here's the question: Are you ready for an Inaugural Ball?
If so, please post here if you plan to attend and how many will be in your party.
Thank you all very much and hope to see you in DC on January 20th!!
By the way, everyone told us last time that the Free Republic Ball was the best one in town and it was half the price or less than all the others. I suspect that this Ball will also be the best in town and at $175 will still be priced less than any other!
My lovely wife and I would be honored to attend. Please sign me up.
I can't be there, but I would sponsor a ticket for Gen. Tommy Franks if you can get him. All the best!
I contacted my Representative's staff today; initial plans are in the works and they took my wife's and my name, address and telephone number, with remarks to expect some word NLT Dec 1.
For some reason, I cannot book a room at the Center Wyndam (or whatever it's called)
A ROOM!!!! I NEED A ROOM!!!!
Can a local give some much needed advice???
Thanks!!!
Governor Huckabee's band blew the doors off the place at FR's first ball. Maybe Ted Nugent this time..?
The estimated price $175 for FReepers. Tickets will not go on sale until we have a signed contract. We'll probably have a higher price for the general public. We want to make sure as many FReepers who want to attend are given the chance to do so.
You can get tickets to the swearing in ceremony from your Congressman or Senators.
The rooms at the Wyndham City Center have pretty much been taken up by another group for that day. There are plenty of hotels in and around D.C. I'll start looking into hotel availability tomorrow.
I originally said I needed two but make that four. When will we have details, etc??
Are you going to try to do this???
I definitely hope to come again. Please let me know as soon as tickets are on sale. taxin@blankrome.com
