amen
Let's not let the devil steal all our fervent effectual by making us doubt.
We ask God to give us fair and just leaders who fear him and who will protect the rights of any who seek the God of Abraham Issac and Jacob and His Son Jesus Christ to do so with the states protection from those who hate God and wish to destroy our nation and take away our freedom to Worship the one true God as we see fit.
Nevertheless Thy Will and not ours be done....
God bless America! I'm unashamed to pray for the re-election of President George W. Bush.
This election is as important as we may ever see-- and for that I submit my own prayer (even though I don't necessarily believe in a God that hears such things as prayers):
God, we need strong and decisive leadership, we need the respect of the world, we need morality and ethics in government. Let us achieve all those things tonight with the re-election of a President who has demonstrated such values. Let us hope that America remains strong and unites behind the winner-- whoever he may be-- and that we go on to greater things than we can imagine even now.
If this election can get an agnostic to pray-- then it must be important!
Adding my prayers, have been for a great while.
Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say rejoice. Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your request be made known unto God. And the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ Our Lord.
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
God bles this beautiful country, Lord Jesus. Give us a reprieve. Put President Bush back in office if it be your will. He believes in you.
Regardless, we maintain our faith in your sovereignty.
I was just thinking a huge prayer chain would be in order right now.......and here you are.
Thanks
Sending lots of prayers...
This is a beautiful and fascinating prayer thread. Happy to be here. Mine is, Lord Thy will be done.
Just drove from McAlester Oklahoma to my little town in south Texas to get my vote in. (I was visiting family in Missouri).
In this little town of 360 I rushed into the polling place at the last minute. The lady who runs the general store was handing out ballots. "Oh, there you are! We wondered if you'd make it."
The lady I bought my donkey from was a volunteer to bring cold drinks and snacks to the people at the poll.
The man who handed me my ballot was the father of my horseshoer.
As I left I saw the young couple who own the feed store came driving up. I owe them for twenty bales of coastal.
"Get it to us when you can!"
It was a Norman Rockwell kind of evening.
Have faith everyone! There's no way God would allow his humble servant Bush to lose the election, there is too much at stake! This alone fills my heart with peace and confidence in a certain and emphatic Bush victory!
Oh Lord smite those who would vote against your servant Bush and may they be trampled under the feet of your elephants of justice. Here our prayer Lord - we know Bush's mission on earth has four more years to run, we believe!
Amen.
Isaiah 55: 1: Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
2: Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
3: Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
4: Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.
5: Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.
6: Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8: For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9: For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10: For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
12: For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13: Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
