The bastards.

FOX is the only halfway trustworthy member of the Consortium. According to Pukin' Dog, a disinformation operation has been underway since the beginning of the afternoon to try and throw this thing to Kerry by making the undecideds pick Kerry and the Republicans go home.

This was aimed at three states: Florida, Ohio, and PA. It may have worked; it may not have worked. A couple of signs, however:

1. Terry McAuliffe is not out talking smack.

2. Absolute confidence inside BC04 about the numbers, esp. in FL and OH.

3. Silence from Lurch.

We wait, of course. A personal note of disappointment:

Why can't the American People at least make up their freaking minds? This looks like another long night, which is what we didn't need in the middle of a war. That half the country could consider pulling a Kaiser Wilhelm and drop the Pilot (Bismarck) for a Senate backbencher makes me pull my hair out.

Oh well, should Bush lose this evening, I have one consolation: the People get the kind of Government they deserve.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

indeed, its good to think positive, but everyone should be prepared for bad news also - the media is a powerful force to have working against you - especially in a nation comprised of so many idiots.

Ditto. And how can anyone possibly decide who to vote for on the basis of hearing early exit polls? It's not like you get a cookie if you vote for the guy who ends up winning.

Absolutly! I've been thinking this all afternoon.

"A personal note of disappointment:

Here's why: follow the money trail or the power trail. They either claim to be undecided in order to pressure those who are running to promise them more of whatever it is they want (usually financial handouts in one form or another). Or, it makes them feel powerful, as if they are in the catbird seat and the politicians are running around trying to please them to get them to decide. Either way, these who are undecided in the last week and who are swayed by stories that are obvious propaganda (such Bush's DUI from the 70's in the last weeks of the 2000 election) are harmful to the democratic process. I'd rather they not vote at all.

I'm hearing on the local radio (philly) those numbers released earlier were been pushing by the Kerry Camp .. also remember the AP is in charge of collecting information and giving it out

I'm also hearing the counties out side of Philly and the upper part of PA have big voter turn out

Yes, but unfortunately is this wacky kind of government we call a democracy, WE also get the kind of government THEY deserve!
