I have wondered that too. Not just tonight but a general tone over the years. Like he gets it up for TV, but is probably a bear when he gets home.

Wasn't his son murdered, or killed...maybe comitted suicide or something?

That could explain his depression...

His only son died a year or so ago. I think he committed suicide. You'd be "blue" for a long time,if you had to live through that too.
