A late influx of vote tallies from Santa Fe County has closed President Bush's lead in New Mexico from 24,000 votes to just over 1,000.

Iowa is reporting 99% with nothing but teeny-tiny little counties not reporting; and over 10,000 ahead.

I think you can chalk it up to the partisan affiliation of the SOS. Ours is a very partisan Dem.
