SINCE THEY HAVE NO FEDERAL POWER LEFT (CAN'T IMPEACH BUSH, SO THIS IS NEXT BEST THING), ALL THEY CAN DO IS DISCREDIT THE PRESIDENT.
THEY THINK IT SETS UP NICELY FOR HILLARY TO GIN UP THE BASE IN '08. THEY ARE ALL ABOUT POLITICS; THEY HOLD THE AMERICAN PEOPLE IN CONTEMPT.
I disagree. They have a lot to lose. But, they don't realize how they handled the 2000 election and this one has distroyed their party. They did it to themselves. They're just not smart enough to realize it. They made this foolish choice and they will suffer because of it.

I reached exactly the same conclusion. One of the things the dims are saying is: we can't win this, but we can keep Bush "illegitimate" for another term.
