I was voter #524 at a Rowan County fire station. Long line which took me about an hour to reach the door. When I left, the line was just as long as it had been when I first arrived. Several local politicians were working the line, handing out cards and chatting up those in line. From talking w/those around me, I found some Bushbots there!

BTW, no dems giving out literature. My precinct captain was handing out lists of R judges, I gave her a 10 minute break before I left for the office after voting.

School was on a 2 hour delay today so I took my boys with me to vote. I'm in N Raleigh and have a precinct that is extremely small, only 1500 total voters. The reason I didn't vote early is because I've NEVER had to wait in line to vote before and I knew I would have a much shorter wait to vote today then I would early. Today I had to wait 25 mins. My vote was number 191. I voted at 7:50. One of the workers said they had a lot of people waiting in their cars to vote at 6:30 when they arrived.

My boys also voted in kids voting, with help from mom of course ; ) They knew who to vote for in the major races though. They should, we have 8 political signs in our front yard, not to mention Fox News on all the time. My 7 year old when voting for Ballantine said "Patrick Ballantine shook my hand and he's gonna be our Governor".

We ran into my liberal neighbor down the street who told me that I still had time to go back and tear up my ballot and do the right thing. I told him "No way, I just cancelled out your vote. I'd walk through broken glass to vote for George Bush" A group of people standing outside let out a HUGE cheer when I said that. Lots of cars and mini vans in the parking lot with W stickers on them.
