My polling place was packed, and as I had to be in office by 8, I delayed. Leaving work early tonight to vote for Dubya.

Extra watchers and a legal type out front.
I went to vote at 9 o'clock this morning near Mt. Vernon in Fairfax County. There usually isn't any line; today there was a one hour wait.
Husband and I voted on Saturday since we both have long commutes. The local middle school parking lot was overflowing this morning in Fairfax County.
Long line at 6:10 am in Bumpass in Louisa Co., very conservative area. Took me 20 minutes to get through, by then the line was out the door and into the parking lot.
Voted shortly after 6am in Charlottesville. I didn't have to wait in line but there were a good many people streaming in as I was leaving.
I voted in Manassas, VA at 8:15AM this morning. Small polling place with three machines but turnout was very heavy. There were two campaign workers outside the polling place. One Bush (female-babe), one sKerry (girly man-dweeb). I took the literature from the girl and the girly man said to me "How about the Democratic viewpoint?" I just glared at him and shook my head in disgust at him.
Voted at 6:15 am eastern in Roanoke Virginia. Only Bush supporters outside, no sKerry people anywhere to be seen.
I'm in Charlottesville, VA..................
Voted on my way to work @ 8:15 AM.......The place was jammed but orderly.......a little slow in the lines but Poll-workers carefully checked identity-documentation........usual Charlottesville crowd, ie. University of Virginia is here so there is a definite skewing of the age of voters to a young-bias.......representatives of both the Pubbies and Rats were polite out front of the polling place.
Go Bush!
I voted at 6:45, and called my wife to tell her there was already a line. She called later to say the line was even longer when she got there. Local poll veterans say this is the heaviest turnout they've ever seen. No sign of shenanigans, but some people who looked a little befuddled about the whole concept of voting.
Baview area of Norfolk, VA
Thanks. You saved me a state. My wrist and elbow are killing me. :)
Only 4 voters there, as usual. There are as many poll workers as voters, which is also usual. It's kinda rural around here lol.
The guy in charge of the polls, who is also my barber, asked me to help them out next year.
Well, that's my report.
P.S. - I voted for Bush.
I gotta go now and relieve my wife who is teaching study hall at a home school enrichment center, so she can go do the poll watching. I feel sorry for any dems that try any shenanigans while she is on watch ;) I'll check back on FR later before I go to my second job.

Richmond excellence in voting:
"... early voters at Virginia Union University cast ballots in the wrong congressional race until the error was discovered and the correct ballot was entered into one of the voting machines.
"Once it was discovered about 6:10, 6:15 [a.m.], people were offered a paper ballot," said Virginia Board of Elections executive secretary Jean Jensen. "I think the unknown is how many votes were cast before that happened."
Initially, the mechanical voting machine listed the candidates in the 7th congressional district instead of the 3rd. The rest of the ballot was correct, election officials said."
The Mrs. went to vote before me. While she was there, someone in line was asked for his ID and he yelled, "You're violating my rights! I'm being intimidated here!"
He went ahead and voted after a few people in line told him to "shut up".
Nothing eventful happened when I went to vote.
Dh got to the polls in Haymarket when they opened (6:00 a.m.) and had to wait more than an hour. I got there at 9:30 and waited about 45 mins. Saw only one person take a sKerry flyer.
My wife and I voted about 8:30, Sherry Park precinct in Va Beach. Steady voting, not much of a line. Two votes from my household for GWB and Thelma Drake!!
Schools are closed today because somany schools are polling stations. I think that is a shame, kids need to be exposed to the process at a young age so that the respect the importance of voting.
