Report from the People's Republic of Mongomery County. Mrs. Cincy and I went to the polls at 6:45 am; there were already over 100 people in line to vote. Got in and out in about 1/2 hour. They check you in and note your party affiliation -- in our part of the line, there had been 21 Dems, 6 "Others", and 4 Republicans (we were # 3 and 4!).

Nevertheless, it felt good to cast that vote, not only for W, but also for Pipkin (against Milkulsi) and Floyd (against Van Hollen). I do miss the old punch cards, though: when I punched that card, I used to feel like Van Helsing -- driving a stake through the heart of another Democrat Vampire!

In Germantown, Montgomery County, this afternoon the lines are about twice as long as usual. I voted for the same you did; I don't know if Pipkin has a chance, but I have heard more radio ads and seen more signs for him than for any previous Mikulski opponent.
