I just saw Imus in person in the MSNBC booth at Democracy Plaza (AKA Rockefeller Plaza.) He looks like he's 100 years old. Rudy Giulani was there to and he looked great.
I urge everyone in the NYC area to come visit Democracy Plaza, today if possible while the media is still there. Lot's of interesting exhibits and media activity. NBC has spent a bundle of money and will be doing all their election broadcasts from outdoor studios built around the world famous Rockefeller Plaza skating rink. NBC's coverage (biased or not) will look fantastic. Camera's everywhere including a robotic cable cam which will give breathtaking shots as it rides down the high wire from Fifth Avenue, through the Channel Gardens, on to the skating rink. I saw some rehersals last night and it's pretty cool.
Catholics are obviously not a monolithic voting block, and some of them are clearly at odds with the church teaching.
I attend the same church as Chris Matthews and find it funny that at the same mass Matthews is often just a few rows away from Bill Bennett, who is sitting a few rows in front of Mark Sheilds, who is sitting across the aisle from Cokie Roberts. We pray in the same place, but our consciences come to different decisions on truth.
BTW, though you may disagree with Matthews, he's not dumb, and I assure you he would know the difference between a Jesuit and a Dominican.
