Bill has agreed to publicly state that to the best of his knowledge and recollection, John Kerry was dishonorably discharged from the military and fought to have this reversed while he (Bill)was SECNAV, which Bill of course refused to do.

Why so late? Why didn't he come out last week? What proof does he have? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see this. I'd be peeing in my pants with excitement, but I'm not sure how much good it is going to do us now?

Middendorf will be in violation of the Privacy Act if he publicly states that Kerry was given a Dishonorable.

The best Middendorf can do is publicly vouch for the men who are trying to make this claim and ask for Kerry to sign the Form 180.

Something wrong here. I seem to have read that officers don't get dishonorable discharges per se. They essentially get a hole in their record where the honorable discharge is supposed to be. This is part of why this has been so hard to nail down: explaining to the public that the absence of a document in 1975 means what it means, especially when K can point to a real discharge from 1978, is a hard sell.
