A TO THE POINT HEADS-UP
I had a conversation with Bill Middendorf earlier today. Bill was the Secretary of the Navy from April 1974 to January 1978. I got to know Bill well when he was Ronald Reagan\'s Ambassador to the OAS and we worked together on support for the Contras.
Bill has agreed to publicly state that to the best of his knowledge and recollection, John Kerry was dishonorably discharged from the military and fought to have this reversed while he (Bill)was SECNAV, which Bill of course refused to do. When Carter became president, Kerry secured the honorable discharge from Bill\'s successor.
The OTH (Other Than Honorable)discharge story has been out for a while, but for a former Secretary of the Navy to confirm it is major news. WorldNetDaily will be headlining it, as should the Washington Times tomorrow, and possibly Drudge. For some reason, Drudge, whom Jerry Corsi (coauthor of Unfit for Command) just talked to a few minutes! ago, is resisting. I also gave the story to Neal Cavuto at Fox.
I thought all TTPers should get a heads-up on this.
Jack Wheeler
Problem is he won't testify before the media about it.
Violating the privacy act is only a misdemeanor punishable by a fine.
I'd be happy to guarantee the $5,000 fine if he'll grow some balls for his country and get this out tonight.
Likely as not, he'd be protected under "whistle blower" laws anyway as Kerry is a gov't official.
Kerry has also stated publicly that he's released ALL his records.... How's middlecoff to know he's lying and didn't already release EVERYTHING?? I mean he's said he released it ALL
This story will get out sometime after the election. I feel that President Bush being the honest man he is will pardon Kerry for his lies and dishonor to our country.
God bless President Bush and forgive those that would choose political power over what is best for America.
Add to that recent research that uncovered documents that prove that some of John Kerry's Vietnam War protest actions were acts of treason. Which if I'm not mistaken, there is no statue of limitations time limit for acts of treason.Bill has agreed to publicly state that to the best of his knowledge and recollection, John Kerry was dishonorably discharged from the military and fought to have this reversed while he (Bill) was SECNAV, which Bill of course refused to do.
The captain is going down. ...And he's taking the ship with him.
Honesty outlives the lie. It always has. It always will.
Unknown.
You'd think Drudge would jump at the chance to use his little red/blue light thingy right about... now.
I said... now.
Matt... NOW!
Pffft. Too late.
I agree that this is not the time, and it should be left alone until after the election....
I don't think that is the case.
Well if I could get something to link to that's vetted and concrete then 20K people will see it in the morning on my site. Otherwise I'll just be preaching to the choir.
He was dishonorably discharged before he was honorably discharged.
Oh for pete's sake, did Navychief wake up from his afternoon nap and post some more silly crap. You guys are gonna get all worked up again and be left in the cold. If there was something to this story, Carl Rove would have popped it Friday.
If this were true it would have come out a long time ago.
Middendorf has already done that, the article has already been posted.
Just 3 easy questions I wished someone had the guts to ask JFK.
As noted in the New York Sun article this morning by Thomas Lipscomb, curiously, "Kerry spokesman David Wade did not reply when asked if Mr. Kerry was other than honorably discharged before he was honorably discharged."
Perhaps Senator Kerry can clear this up for us.
Question 1: Senator Kerry, "Did you receive any type of discharge from the Navy prior to the honorable discharge posted on your website?
Question 2: Senator Kerry, You withdrew from the 1970 Congressional race in favor of the Reverend Robert Drinan. Were there ever any discussions between you and Reverend Drinan concerning your admission to Boston College Law School? Did Reverend Drinan facilitate your admission to Boston College Law School? Were you advised by Harvard as to the reason for your denial of admission to Law School was due in part to their concern that you would be denied admission to the Bar? (OK, so this is really 3 questions, but the same topic.)
During 1976 and 1977 Senator Edward Kennedy undertook an investigation in order to determine the scope of any counterintelligence abuses by the military. Senator Kennedy subsequently introduced The Foreign Surveillance Act of 1977. This Act describes the defined behavior that could no longer be subject to surveillance without warrants. Again curiously, the Act's defined behavior literally describes Lt. Kerry's behavior upon his return from Viet Nam. This behavior includes "Americans having contact with foreign powers in the case of Americans who were active in the protest against U.S. involvement in Vietnam. Some of them may have attended international conferences at which there were representatives of foreign powers, as defined in the bill, or may have been directly in communication with foreign governments concerning this issue."
Question 3: Senator Kerry, Was your other than honorable discharge from the United States Navy upgraded to honorable subsequent to the legislation introduced by Senator Edward Kennedy and subsequently passed by Congress and signed by President Carter?
ping for Drudge...
"Middendorf will be in violation of the Privacy Act if he publicly states that Kerry was given a Dishonorable."
Totally agree. The NAVSEC would put himself in a bad spot, he has no right to disclose what JFK's discharge is. It is private info between the department of the Navy and JFK.
And as most have indicated. To little to late. It would be stupid to put pressure on Middendorf at this point. Why should he be asked to do something that is dis-honorable?
It is not fair. We should embrace ethics and fair play and convince our children we play fair and by the books regardless of the circumstances, and show them the stark difference between the left and the right. Two wrongs don't make a right. Right?
Why? We complain all the time about last minute surprises from the Dems. I know what they say is true I just wish it could have come out sooner.
ITS ON RIGHT NOW ON THE RADIO LEVIN I THINK
THE NEW LEFT IN GOVERNMENT: FROM PROTEST TO POLICY-MAKING
The focus of Sam Brown's anti-Vietnam war activities was the Vietnam Moratorium Committee. . .What may be surprising, at least to some observers, is that, according to the same interview, Brown was offered the directorship of ACTION a bare three hours after President Carter's inauguration. As Brown described it, he had first been called by Mr. Carter in Colorado about a week before the inauguration, so that It wasn't an accident that he [Max Cleland, President Carter's choice to head the Veterans Administration] and I were the first people into the White House on inauguration day. After Carter walked down Pennsylvania Avenue, he called us into the Oval Office.
NOMINATION OF SAM W. BROWN, JR. (Senate - May 25, 1994)
Mr. KERRY: [SNIP] I knew Sam Brown back then, and I can tell you that he was as committed to peaceful, nonviolent advocacy and dialog as anybody in the United States of America.
