I don't know how anyone in this nation can NOT be sad and somber when HALF of our country is on Osama Bin Ladin's SIDE. The Dims have been echoing his spew for 18 months after the bastard attacked OUR COUNTRY!!!
To me anything other than an OVERWHELMING victory for GW is reason for some sadness. A defeat of George Bush, while unthinkable to me, is yet possible, and that possiblity scares the hell out of me, not for what will happen in the WOT, as much as it will say the we as a NATION are socialists and ready for a ONE WORLD UN run nation. It will also say LOUD AND CLEAR that WE AS A NATION concede defeat. OBL wins by default!!!
Rush did say that WE all must FIGHT ON EVEN FOR THOSE that don't know any better. That is what our military does daily and what we all must do if faced with the unthinkable.
Well said. Is America the next Spain? Will we cave just like they did?
This is somewhat along the lines of what I was thinking. This is the first presidential election since 09/11. National security and keeping the country safe are on many people's minds as some of the most important issues.
I do believe there is, like it or not, a large group of people who think in terms of "can I keep my job?", "how much will healthcare cost?", "will Social Security be there for me?". It may not be the way you and I think, but in many ways, some people prioritize in those terms.
I believe there is a significant group of people who really minimize the threat from radial Islam. They believe the attacks on 09/11 were an abberation. They justify this by stating that there have been no attacks since 09/11, for whatever the reason. Still others believe that if we try to negotiate with the terrorists, that the U.S. can minimize its' risk of being hit again.
The key to this election really hinges on turnout and how believable each candidate seems. Yes, there is a well-motivated ABB crowd that would vote for a tin-can, if it was running against GWB. I believe the majority of people *believe* GWB, and do not believe JFK. Ultimately, for most folks, the election really does boil down to a set of core issues, with not a lot of "nuance".
I believe GWB will win, and that we will know the results within 24-48 hours at the latest.
