I am a female hunter. We have quite a variety of guns in our household. My daughter was shot by a boy with a BB gun from a few hundred yards away. The BB struck the pavement, entered her leg above the knee and lodged in the muscle of her thigh, four inches from the spot where it entered. The gun was tested and was so powerful that it was considered a deadly weapon. The state prosecuted this boy on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. BB guns are MUCH more powerful than they used to be. Parents need to know this.

I used to pop off sparrows eating our wheat/oats/barley with a Daisy BB gun. Idon't remember the model number, but it was a lever action and this was 45+ years ago. Now, we have a Daisy that I pop off squirrels with from over 75 feet. My old gun sometimes needed two or three per sparrow and you could see the BB leave the gun. Now it is a totally different story.
