For all the Kerry Supporters. Send this to them all!

Posted on 10/31/2004 9:57:11 PM PST by AWG

I recently received this email. Please send it to anyone thinking about voting for Kerry.

If you're voting for Kerry because of Iraq, please read the section on Iraq. You might also want to see what he and his peers did for Massachusetts.

Issues:

The Draft - Bush has no intention of instituting a draft. http://www.gop.gov/item-news.asp?docId=60075 In fact, the only bills currently sponsored which would attempt to require any sort of national service are sponsored by DEMOCRATS, not Bush. http://www.factcheck.org/article200.html

Tax credits for exporting jobs and the economy - If I didn't already know better, I'd swear from the news that Bush had something to do with this tax credit. The truth is, this credit has been in existence for DECADES. It is NOT a product of the Bush Administration http://www.factcheck.org/article.aspx@docID=225.html. In addition, the exporting of jobs has had little effect on the total job loss. As painful as it is for those of us in the tech industry to digest, outsourcing is only a small part of the problem in the overall job loss situation. http://www.aeanet.org/PressRoom/pret_032404_OffshoreOutsourcingReport.asp The reality is that the economy is in tough shape - not just here in America, but internationally, too. It's called a business cycle and it is inevitable. The cycle takes so long to come around that no one ever remembers it being this bad. To add to the problem, the bad part of the business cycle always follows the good part. That makes it sting a little more. It's a cycle, it will get better, it just takes time.

Halliburton - Any money Cheney received from Halliburton was the result of deferred compensation and incentives earned while he was running the company - BEFORE he was Vice -President. That means that he did a good job as CEO. That means he's a good manager. That's a good thing. He has no financial interest in Halliburton and has severed all ties with them, even going so far as to set up a trust for any residual income received from Halliburton donating any such income to charity. http://www.factcheck.org/article261.html Many people don't like that Cheney as associated with the company which was awarded the contracts for rebuilding Iraq's oil resources. Well, there aren't a lot of companies with security clearance who specialize in rebuilding oil wells and coordinating armed transportation of petroleum products to our military. And if you want to get technical, Halliburton wasn't awarded the contract, Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR), a Halliburton subsidiary was. That's a little like blaming the CEO of Sears for something that the CEO of Land's End did (Land's End is a subsidiary of Sears.)

The "Deficit" - Addressed in the last email but in a nutshell, YES Clinton spent less per capita then Bush. Yes, Clinton spent less than the Government received in revenue. NO it was not a good thing. Clinton DEFERRED paying many of our nation's obligations and stuck the current administration with the bill, meaning the debt went up because he financed debts we should have been paying. That's why the "deficit" - which is the amount of money we spend in ONE YEAR over and above the amount of money we receive in ONE YEAR - went down. We didn't spend any less, we just didn't pay the bills when they came in. Therefore, the amount of money going out was less than the amount of money coming in.

Iraq - There is so much misinformation about Iraq that it's sickening. Recently, on the front page of the New York Times there was a story about 380 tons of explosive that "disappeared" in Iraq from the Al Qaqaa weapons site. The Times made it sound as though it had disappeared very recently and that this was more "evidence" of Bush's inability to lead our military. The problem is, these weapons have been missing for 18 or 19 months - BEFORE U.S. troops arrived in Baghdad. http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewPolitics.asp?Page=%5CPolitics%5Carchive%5C200410%5CPOL20041026b.html An NBC embedded reporting unit was with the 101st Airborne April 10th, 2003 (Baghdad fell April 9th, 2003). When the embedded reporters got to the Al Qaqaa weapons site with the 101st Airborne, there were no explosives in that cache that everybody thought were going to be there. They had already been moved. Read what Kerry has to say about it, and keep in mind that he ALREADY KNEW the story was false. http://www.johnkerry.com/pressroom/releases/pr_2004_1025a.html But here's the reality. If we KNOW that there were weapons at the Al Qaqaa weapons site, and we KNOW they were missing before our troops got there, do you think the same thing could happen to weapons of mass destruction? I am amazed at the number of people who say "Hey, there were no weapons there, we shouldn’t have gone in." Do these people really think that Saddam Hussein is going to leave incriminating weapons of mass destruction lying around and help justify our presence in his country? Of course not! He's going to make sure that they are gone, without a trace, so he can get the sympathy of the many surprisingly naive Americans and, of course, the United Nations. No one ever said Saddam Hussein was dumb. He's very good at figuring out how people will react, and we're playing right into his hand. The story about the weapons missing from the Al Qaqaa weapons site proves that weapons were removed and relocated before our troops arrived. We're a bit foolish to think the same fate didn't fall upon the weapons of mass destruction. This guy is a madman http://www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/iraq/news/20030404-1.html There should be no doubt in anyone's mind that he was a threat to our national security. He is the only ruler in power today who actually has deployed Weapons of Mass Destruction. Here's an interesting argument written after 9/11 but before the Iraq War http://www.danielpipes.org/article/443 I know nothing about the author but found some of the arguments interesting.

Stem cell research - Bush isn't against stem cell research per se, he just doesn't want to use human fetus' to supply the cells for the research. Many surprising personalities have been vocal about their support of using embryonic stem cells. I say "surprising" because (here come the politically incorrect part) there used to be a time when men would die to save a baby's life. Now grown men want babies to die to save their lives. I wonder how future generations will view our society. Politically incorrect, I know. But if you've ever researched subjects such as partial birth abortion or the idea of "creating" human embryos for research you know where I'm coming from. Trying doing that stuff to a kitten or a dog embryo and see what happens.

I have researched this election A LOT, mainly because I wanted to make my own informed decision. In summary, a lot of garbage got dumped on President bush. The former administration disguised economic problems to make things look great. This caused the stock market to soar, and kept everyone happy, but since the underlying reason for it's gains was not based on reality, it naturally crashed. They neglected our national Security to the point that terrorists were able to KILL 3 thousand of our fellow citizens right after Clinton left office. They cut spending on the military so much that the next administration had to make up for it. These actions caused a lot of the problems we have today. To blame it on Bush is not just inaccurate, it's wrong. But as Machiavelli said... "Hence it is necessary for a prince wishing to hold his own to know how to do wrong, and to make use of it or not according to necessity."

Ihave asked this same question. I believe that Saddam got warning and help from his UN Oil For Food Cronies. It has been said that Saddam never expected US to attack and France Garunteed a blocking vote. I think the had ther finger on our decesions and warned Saddam in time to move and hide the weapons. They are there or in Syria or the desert. Russia or Iran

The important hing is that people know the truth - something that's been quite evasive this election. Remember how twisted things got when Clinton ran? This guy makes Clinton look like a choir boy!

Right now the whole Socialist World is against Bush and the Caonservative, right wing, and people who are of the Return to the Constitution as provided by our Founding Fathers. I am voting Republican this time, and praying for a Victory. I am also of the ilk of those who want adherence to the Constitution. We ahve gotten of of this track and need to elect representatives an Senators in the off season election. This must be done to remove the Socialist (Democrats) and get our policies moving toward the stricter adherence to the Constitution as it was meant to be. Out of the UN, all the ties wiht the Un and treaties and agreements with the UN. They are not our friends. Look at the Oil for Food program and the backstabbing of the Security Council. We are going to have to stand alone for freedom. Strict Border control. If CHina can cut ties and survive so can we. Only we can do it better. America for Americans.
