Kerry Endorsed Bush's Tora Bora Strategy
After Osama bin Laden released his pre-election video yesterday, John Kerry repeated his criticism that President Bush let the terror kingpin get away by "outsourcing" the job to Afghan forces when we had bin Laden cornered in the Tora Bora mountains.
But it turns out that in December 2001, when the Tora Bora operation was under way, Kerry endorsed Bush's tactics during an interview with CNN's Larry King.
Kerry said the Bush plan to get bin Laden "is having its impact, and it is the best way to protect our troops and sort of minimalize the proximity, if you will."
Lest anyone mistake his endorsement as half-hearted, Kerry added:
"I think we have been doing this pretty effectively, and we should continue to do it that way."
The quotes, unearthed Saturday by New York Times columnist David Brooks, only add to Kerry's image as a political opportunist who tailors his rhetoric to fit the moment.
According to Kerry, says Brooks: "When we rely on allies everywhere else around the world, that's multilateral cooperation, but when Bush does it in Afghanistan, it's 'outsourcing.' In Iraq, Kerry supports using local troops to chase insurgents, but in Afghanistan he is in post hoc opposition."
The Tora Bora contradiction exposes the credibility gap in Kerry's anti-terror pronouncements, says Brooks. "Many people are not sure that he gets the fundamental moral confrontation. Many people are not sure he feels it, or feels anything."

He approved it before he disapproved it. Nothing new here.
BUMP!
"is having its impact, and it is the best way to protect our troops and sort of minimalize the proximity, if you will. I think we have been doing this pretty effectively, and we should continue to do it that way."Email this, publish it, quote it to everyone you know and ask them to do the same. Kerry is a power hungry charlatain and traitor who will say anything, take any position, do anything, lie, cheat, forge, commit fruad...anything, to get power. He must be stopped.
Jeff, if Kerry could have waged a principled campaign, we could address his senate record and his policies. While you and I would both differ with him on most of those in and of themselves, we're instead first forced to address his traitorousness.
Check this out (post number 5) and forward this thread's information it to everyone you know, asking them to do the same.
You linked to the wrong article.
Let's not plaugurize David Brooks!
Senator Kerry, you previously stated what we did in Tora Bora was correct. Then you changed your position and blamed our president for failure, this was shortly before the new Ben Laden Tape was aired
#1. How did you know that OBL wasn't killed in Tora Bora and suddenly began complaining about outsourcing the hunt last week? Who told you that Ben Laden was still alive, and when did you hear this?
#2. How did you know that there were no WMDs in Iraq when we invaded Iraq this time? That is the opposite of what you said about WMDS in Iraq in previous times and before the regime change. You and your fellow rats were hollering that there were no WMDs in Iraq before the war was over. Again, who told you that the WMDs were gone and when?
Senator Kerry, it appears that your and your camp have had intel from directly from our enemies, and you didn't share this intel with our military fighting our enemies. Is this why you attended few if any Senate Intel meetings on the WOT?
It's like Kerry is setting his traps but then he steps into them.
Thanks for the ping!
Soooo, I take it you believe democrats or MSM will CARE about all that ?..... and we Just keep harping and singing "Amazing Disgrace" and they'll give a standing ovation at the end of the song.. and they will feel incredibly DUPED...
I would not be as crass to try sell you the Brooklyn Bridge but really I can swing a deal on the Throgneck Bridge around the corner from it.. CHEAP TOO.. give me a call.. for the particulars..
I gather you're not impressed with Jean Keri's character ;^)
Scumbag works for me; traitor is even better.
I agree we should keep up the efforts to expose this poseur for what he is, not just for this election, but to demonstrate just how far the Dims have fallen as a party. For future reference so to speak...
FGS
Except a tagline (thanks for the ping Jeff, and if this isn't a political JD, I've lost my mind :-)
I'm on the same wavelength with someone. I have been doing a search on FR to get a handle on the timing of this thing.
You'll recall from the 3rd(?) debate several weeks ago Kerry lambasting "W" for letting bin Laden get away by "outsourcing" the job? I thought it odd at the time IIRC, "W" didn't utter a peep regarding Keri's comment. Nothing. I think Keri may have been talking out of school on the subject and "W" knew better than to broach the issue.
Keri is such a sleaze. He makes my skin crawl and that takes some doin'.
FGS
Thanks for the info.
In the second debate he got into the unsecured areas after the war. Shortly after the NY Slimes had their lies about the supposedly stolen high explosives. Within 24 hours Kerry had his ad out backing the NY Slimes. Now we find out that two liberals from Oregon serving as volunteers in Iraq may have been the ones who started that mess going.
I started asking the question re how did the libs know that there were no WMDs in Iraq before the war was over back when they started making that statement.
The only way they could have known that there were no WMDs was they were told by the $oddomite that the Iraqis, Syrians and Russians had moved all of the WMDs out of Syria. That was the only thing that the MSM and rats were correct about in that war.
A week ago, Kerry reversed his previous positions re Tora Bora and starts the outsourcing BS. Apparently, he and his people were told that OBL was still alive.
