AIRING TONIGHT ON 60 MINUTES: IN HARM'S WAY

Even though roadside explosive devices account for half of all the war's U.S. casualties, soldiers are still getting killed and wounded by them because the Pentagon hasn't provided enough fully-armored vehicles to protect them.

all BUSH has to say ( and it's true ) that Kerry voted in the senate not to provide the funds for the body armer.

I wouldn't worry too much about this. Not only are SeeBS' ratings going down the dumper, all the soccer moms will be handing out candy and/or waddling their little butterballs up and down the sidewalks trick-or-treating while this is on.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I will not watch CBS or their affiliate stations ever again...UNLESS the Chicago Bears are playing, and even then I'm turning down the sound and listening to the game on radio...

I couldn't agree more. This is not the time for the White House to "play nice". Then, again, I'm not an expert in running a campaign.

If Kerry got his way, the troops wouldn't have the latest body armour. This shows that his is the wrong person for the job, when he will put his political career before the safety of our troops.

Are all these stations part of the CBS family? If so, I'm canceling cable tomorrow.

Does anyone know of a way to determine how many WWII casualties happened in jeeps? How many Americans died because jeeps weren't armored? That is the relevant comparison.

BTW, the armored hummer is horrible, at least in the versions I worked with in Bosnia. The engine, transmission and suspension just aren't capable of supporting all that weight. They perform poorly, are easily mired, and break like British cars. If we want an armored vehicle, we should build one, not strap armor onto something that was never intended to be armored.

and John Kerry failed to vote for the 87 billion Dollar supplemental that would have undermined the troops even more if he had his way.

We know Kerry voted against the $87 billion package that included body armor, but did it include better protection for the vehicles. This seems to be the point of the story.

Although CBS may not get great ratings tonight, we know they are in league with the NYT. Unfortunately, many news outlets take their lead from whatever is reported in the NYT.

1992: The Iran/Contra report just happens to implicate Bush 41--just before the election.

2000: W's DWI just happens to come to light hours before the election.

The idea is to hit the Republican candidate with an allegation so close to the election that he doesn't have time to respond.

CBS is truly sleazoid.

None of us pay attention the the garbage put out by CBS, but I'm afraid they still hold a lot of sway among the general public.

If they can influence even 1% of the American people, that could make a difference, come Tuesday. Is there any way we can alert the U.S. tv-watching audience to the fraud and bias of 60 minutes, without causing more people to tune in to the show?
