IMO, he would welcome a much smaller military, and I think he's planning on that very attrition to achieve it.

I don't believe that US soldiers have to serve in Blue Helmets. There was a case about that in Bosnia, and the soldier didn't have to serve under the UN, Clinton, don't you know, but I don't remember if they just folded and let him go, or if it was a legal precedent setting case. Anyone?

If my memory serves me right that soldier was brought up on charges. I think it was due to Klinton wanting the military to wear UN patches. I could be totally wrong though.

During clinton's years, one young soldier refused to wear the UN's blue beret and shoulder patch. He was found guilty of disobeying a lawful order and given a dishonorable discharge. All appeals failed. I supported his campaign to have the DD overturned, but lost touch with all the business moves I was making.

But Yes, it did happen, and it could again, precedence has been made.
