"Just heard a woman caller to WABC radio say that she's a psychologist and she thinks President Bush is too aggressive. He needs to learn to placate those opposing us."

This woman thinks she can "placate those opposing us" through an application of psychological strategies, which just happens to be her specialty. Unfortunately, her mind is full of theory and too weak to overcome and grasp what is really going on in the world. Theory is only useful when the limits of theory are understood.

True, and theories themselves can limit thinking, as well.

I can go one further. I was on the SJSU [San Jose State] campus during a [C]ANSWER demonstration last year and an anti-war "Kerry" supporter actually made the outrageous statement that [quote] "if only alQaeda were given their own "Islamic" seat at the UN, like the PLO, then these suicide killings, & thus Bush's "War on Terror" would stop".

So I asked her if giving Arafat his own "terrorist" seat 30yrs ago had stopped the suicide bombings in Israel. And of course she had nothing to say to that.
