A few hours ago, I thought Kerry was headed for victory. Now I think the opposite. I also have a sinking feeling that that was entirely bin Laden's objective. It's quite simple. By publicly supporting Kerry, bin Laden hopes to make us think that he actually prefers Bush, because we know terrorists are liars. But he knows we know this, and is counting on us to assume that he is lying when he's actually telling the truth. Now I must leave to continue building up my immunity to iocaine powder.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders, the most famous of which is, never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well known is this, never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line.

A few hours ago, I thought Kerry was headed for victory. Now I think the opposite. I also have a sinking feeling that that was entirely bin Laden's objective This is complete crap. It is really quite simple. If we assume that Bin Laden is intelligent (which is a big assumption), then it is obvious that he wants Bush to win. There is no reverse phsychology. He just doesn't live here. Imagine, living outside of America and not understanding Americans. If you wanted to hurt Bush, you would base your actions on what you know about America:
- Farenheit 9/11 made over $100M at the Box Office, and people are talking it up as an Oscar winner. Thus, the American People must agree with it
- The NY Times and CNN, which are probably most of what someone overseas would see, are relentlessly anti-American and Anti-Bush, and they portray him as an ignorant chimp. Thus reinforcing your belief that F9/11 reflects the ideas of America
- Most of Europe and elitists everywhere hate Israel, so Americans must hate Israel too.
So, the problem is not that Bin Laden was not smart. The problem is that he thinks Americans believe the propaganda pushed by the MSM (just like Middle Easterners believe the stuff the Al Jazeera puts out). What he doesn't know is that the MSM has no credibility in this country anymore, and doesn't reflect the views of the American people.
