The editorial came after a Tuesday endorsement for Mr Bush's challenger, Senator John Kerry, in Europe's biggest financial newspaper, the Financial Times and just before today's very reluctant endorsement of Senator Kerry by The Economist. Goes to prove these idiots don't know anything about economics.

The Economist identified Guantanamo as President Bush's "biggest mistake." I don't know about you but the president's handling of Guantanamo doesn't rank in the top two million issues impacting my vote. I find The Economist's reasoning perplexing at best.
Whatever The Economist's editorial positions, its news stories evidence an abiding respect for free market economics. In this respect, The Economist stands head-and-sholders over the American main stream media.
