Four years ago they were busing people to the polls for Gore. I don't know how they're going to improve on that.

As long as the blacks refuse to see that they're being used solely for their votes (with continued empty promises by the Dems) the Dems will keep ON getting the black vote....Ken Hamblin (a conservative black talk show host) refers to this as "keeping the blacks on the plantation" -- and using them only when it's time to vote....

Howlin, it is exactly as described here in Ohio.

The BC04 is organized down to the precinct. Every potentional voter (Republican, soft Republican and Independent) is being called multiple times (over 2,000,000 calls so far.....last night we made 1,200 calls in our county in 2 hours).

The final 72 hour effort is intense, and election day is covered like a blanket. Every potential voter will be called, and have his/her door knocked on.

Ohio IS a Republican state. The polls are wrong. Rush is right. Ohio goes Bush BIG time.

Governor Taft is not up for election and cannot run again, having already served two terms. He is extremely unpopular with most Ohioans. Gay marriage referendum is gaining alot of opposition because it does not simply outlaw gay marriage, it also prohibits certain benefits for same sex couples that are available to married couples. Unclear what this means but many think it would prohibit businesses from allowing a gay employee to cover his/her gay partner and much discussion that, right or wrong, this is bad for attracting the businesses that Ohio needs so badly. Support for this amendment, which a few months ago was over 60%, is dropping fast.

The same goes for our household.

I'm not sure how you could designate Ohio as solid Republican anyway after 2000. The popular vote was divided 50/46/3 for Bush/Gore/Nader in 2000. Nader won't be on the Ohio ballot this time.

This no time to relax.

my vote will be used to take down one of many kook kerry votes. i hope rush is right.

"Take down" is a very apt way of describing voting.....get the Dems in a half-nelson and then BODY-SLAM 'em!

13% of the black vote is less than the 18% of the black vote that has been mentioned in national polls.

I suppose most of Ohio's blacks are in the inner cities, whereas in the South there still are many rural blacks.

We're doing our part!

Keep up the good work! I live up here in Toronto, Canada, but I have done my part by (already) voting absentee ballot (straight Republican ticket!) two weeks ago....I will be watching along with my US compatriots for the election returns on Nov 2nd evening....

One more correction, if i understand current Ohio politics the governor is a RINO who will probably be toast next election.

Well, maybe, since by law he can't run for another term. Oops...

Bush has a secret weapon in the Amish vote in both PA and Ohio. The Amish don't usually vote but are turning out big in this election because of the Gay marriage issue.

The Amish and black population are also very anti- gay marriage.....two voting blocks like that helping one -- in Ohio -- is a good thing....

Nothing in Rush's rant about the job loss issue, I note. Kerry has been blasting Bush about it and there has been no effective response. Polling indicates that this is the dominant issue here, and Kerry is making the most of it. Almost everyone I talk to mentions it. That and Bush "lying" about WMDs, Iraq, etc. The lamebrain media and the 'Rats have done an effective job of cleansing any thought about 9/11 and the WOT from the minds of many voters here. Based on what I've seen in normally solid Republican areas in my neighborhood, Kerry has made significant inroads into normally pro-Bush support. That leads me to believe that it will be a very, very close race.

But the Amish aren't included in any polls because they don't have telephones.

He is unpopular. You got that right. Here's a guy who had a chance to do a lot of things right, and just bunged it up. The state is ranked something like the third-worst in terms of tax climate, and near the bottom for being businbess-friendly. All of this has hurt the employment picture here and these are all state issues, but Bush will get the blame.

I agree....remember that there are several kinds of lies:

(1) Lies
(2) Damned lies
(3) and contemptible lies

And -- as you said -- the Dems are utilizing all these...
