A 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS crew in Iraq shortly after the fall of Saddam Hussein was in the area where tons of explosives disappeared.
The missing explosives are now an issue in the presidential debate. Democratic candidate John Kerry is accusing President Bush of not securing the site they allegedly disappeared from. President Bush says no one knows if the ammunition was taken before or after the fall of Baghdad on April 9, 2003 when coalition troops moved in to the area.
Using GPS technology and talking with members of the 101st Airborne 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS determined our crew embedded with them may have been on the southern edge of the Al Qaqaa installation, where that ammunition disappeared. Our crew was based just south of Al Qaqaa. On April 18, 2003 they drove two or three miles north into what is believed to be that area...

5 EYEWITNESS NEWS e-mailed pictures of the material we found to experts in Washington Wednesday to see if it is the same kind of high explosives that went missing in Al Qaqaa. They could not make that determination.
The footage is now in the hands of security experts to see if it is indeed the explosives in question.

Hazard Classification The hazard classification system is based on a system established for international use by the United Nations Organization (UNO). The UNO system consists of nine classes of dangerous material. The nine classes and the types of hazardous materials involved are shown in table 7-1 of NAVSEA OP 5, volume 1. You will deal primarily with hazard class-1 material (ammunition and explosives, Department of Transporta- tion (DOT) classes A, B, and C; blasting agents). The ammunition and explosives hazard class 1 is further subdivided into six divisions. These divisions are based on the characteristics and predominance of the associated hazards and on the potential for causing personnel casualties or property damage. The divisions and types of hazards expected are as follows: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Division Designator 1Mass detonating Division Designator 2Non-mass detonating, fragment producing Division Designator 3Mass fire Division Designator 4Moderate fire, no blast Division Designator 5Very insensitive Division Designator 6Extremely insensitive STORAGE COMPATIBILITY The assignment of class-1 ammunition and explosives into six divisions does not necessarily mean that the different items in a division may be stored or transported together. Compatibility groups determine storage and transportation compatibility for rail and motor modes, while the class and division designators determine segregation requirements for carriage by vessels. Explosive articles that differ in minor respects maybe assigned to different divisions if their predominate haz- ards differ. Storage Compatibility Groups A compatibility group accompanies the hazard class to complete the hazard classification designation.
Interesting. Know anything about this stuff?

DUmmies need to have a mental disorder if they believe insurgents loaded up 40 tractor trailers worth of weapons right under our noses.
Let's look at this story, They don't know where they are at, just from the GPS coordinates they are somewhere near Al-Qaqa.
US has removed/destroyed 400,000 TONS of weapons in Iraq since the start of the war.
The reporter has no idea where he is, but they "think" they are in the spot where the 380 tons were, and they have video of a bunch of barrels without any IAEA tags on any of it.
Naive DUmmies. They are scratching and kicking on the inside of a closed casket right now.. It's almost all over for these nitwits..
As the old FedExer here let me say that the orange "Explosives" label is mandated by IATA for all air transport items that are considered to be explosives. English is mandatory. I'm trying to remember from my hazmat classes, but I'm pretty sure that "1.1" is the least dangerous form of explosives (like "Class C" under the US CFR 49 shipping reg)s. It certainly would not appear to be "high" explosives, but I'll check to make sure about "1.1"
At FedEx, we were only able to take fairly stable explosives, usually they were under the domestic US regulations which is a different system from the international (IATA).
Great finds. Well done.
I wonder if the reporters/producers at this TV station know how to Google.
The UN didn't seal all the entrances into the bunkers, however. Figgers.
Hey, EOD! Do you have any insight on this you can proffer?
What we now need is someone with military or explosives experience to tell us what exactly these item are used for.
after all he's a peanut farmer. They think we're so stupid as to fall for this. I wonder if C BS was in on this.
I don't know about explosives, but I heard on FoxNews this morning that a 'confidential' report to the UN [something from the IAEA] actually said there were 3..not that 3 tons of something, then in early Oct it was 140 something tons, now it's 377 tons. Fox referenced this confidential report that it and ABC had gotten.
Thank God I'm not the only one that looked at the pictures and thought the reporters had stumbled into a huge catering outfit.
#4 looks like the pastry chef fled for his life right after preparing creme brulees for 1000...
Ok "Dick Succher"

Since Oct 27, 2004
They are ABC affiliated, and while they are not as bad as Channel 4 (CBS), their bias is extreme hard left.
For an example of this, you just need to watch about 60 seconds. They fawn over everything that Kerry does --- and they hyperventalated this week over some actor who came to the cities for skerry.
Now compare that to 4 years ago, GWB makes his first visit to MN (normally no GOP pres candidate ever visits MN). First they covered Gore's visit to Florida for 5 minutes and then briefly mentioned that GWB stopped in MN
HUH ??? oh yea, no bias there. The first stop by a presidential GOP candidate in years if not decades and they cannot bring themselves to talk about it
OK OK, rant off now
looking at your posts, I would say I have found a troll.
I agree
Jimmy Carter probably planted the peanut butter, after all he's a peanut farmer. They think we're so stupid as to fall for this stuff.
Because some news orgs are actually checking their own archives, which is what the New York Times should have done before it decided to let El Baradei use them to distract everyone from the fact that the UN hates us and wants us all dead...
