A 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS crew in Iraq shortly after the fall of Saddam Hussein was in the area where tons of explosives disappeared.
The missing explosives are now an issue in the presidential debate. Democratic candidate John Kerry is accusing President Bush of not securing the site they allegedly disappeared from. President Bush says no one knows if the ammunition was taken before or after the fall of Baghdad on April 9, 2003 when coalition troops moved in to the area.
Using GPS technology and talking with members of the 101st Airborne 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS determined our crew embedded with them may have been on the southern edge of the Al Qaqaa installation, where that ammunition disappeared. Our crew was based just south of Al Qaqaa. On April 18, 2003 they drove two or three miles north into what is believed to be that area...

5 EYEWITNESS NEWS e-mailed pictures of the material we found to experts in Washington Wednesday to see if it is the same kind of high explosives that went missing in Al Qaqaa. They could not make that determination.
The footage is now in the hands of security experts to see if it is indeed the explosives in question.

No, I cannot hear Lurch keep droning on because when I see him on the tube or radio I switch stations. He makes me physically ill.
Guys chill out. The MSM shows a couple of still shots and the sky is falling. Unless you have a sample of the material you don't what it is. I mean it could be peanut butter. The MSM wants to rattle us.

Hazardous Shipping Description
Boosters, 1.1D UN 0042
The crates actually say "Al QAAQA" - it's on their website.
All that proves is that Al Qaaqa was the original intended destination for the stuff.
Bottom line - regardless of what the explosives in the video are - no IAEA seals, not the explosives that went missing.
I don't think those crates show RDX or HBX. They show Cast Boosters which are designed to detonate high explosives.
Why is there no Arabic on these containers? And why are they all labelled in English, at least that I can see. I heard one soldier on some show say that what he saw there was mostly written in French and German.
In its pure synthesised state it is a white crystalline solid. As an explosive it is usually used in mixtures with other explosives and plasticizers or desensitizers. It is stable in storage and is considered the most powerful and brisant of the military high explosives.
RDX forms the base for a number of common military explosives: Composition A (wax-coated, granular explosive consisting of RDX and plasticizing wax), composition A5 (mixed with 1.5% stearic acid), composition B (castable mixtures of RDX and TNT), composition C (a plastic demolition explosive consisting of RDX, other explosives, and plasticizers), composition D, HBX (castable mixtures of RDX, TNT, powdered aluminium, and D-2 wax with calcium chloride), H-6, Cyclotol and C-4.
Of course its not RDX or HBX. The Russians took that out of Iraq before the war started. Let the MSM go national with this. It proves nothing and be can debunked.
Is that definitive? Are you saying that label is only applied to boosters?
Hope so.
Somebody is playing games here. A couple of days ago we hear about explosives being found and now all of a sudden, a tv reporter has video of the explosives. Why is all of this info coming out now just days before the election?
f. RDX (Clclotrimethylenetrinitramine, Cyclonite)
The name cyclonite was given to this explosive by Clarence J. Bain because of its cyclic structure and its cyclonic nature. The Germans call it Hexogen, the Italians T4.
Today, Cyclonite is probably the most important high brisance explosive. Its brisant power is high, owning to its high density and high detonation velocity. It is relatively insensitive as compared to PETN which has similar strength.
RDX is also used as a medicine, under the name of methenamine, used for the control of urinary tract infections, also used in the manufacturer of plastics, and as an accelerator for the vulcanization of rubber.
Uses: Manufacture of boosters, detonating cord, detonators, and placed in a plastic binder.
Properties
White crystalline solid or red depending on use. If used in detonating cord it will be red to pink.
High brisance
