Russians are reasonable, sane people. They are not Arabs. Condi Rice, in the aftermath of major combat, said forgive the Russians. That in itself was telling. France's opposition was based on their desire to build a counterweight to US power. I don't think this was the root of the Russian's position at the time. As I recall, Putin had some ominous things to say after the war started but I believe that has more to do with their experience Afghanistan. And let's not forget that it was Putin who called out the Dems during their primaries (I think that's the timing), criticizing them for playing politics with the Iraq/WMD issue.

I get the times, but the article has vanished. Just a white space that is quite empty.

I'm laughing out loud! I was watching too, and taking notes:
William Safire on Larry King Live said, "we know now CBS planned to show this as a "roll-back". a story that is intentionally published too late to respond to, and the NYT decided not to hold it. Safire explains if CBS had had it's way we wouldn't be having this discussion this week, it would have been what people were reading as they left their house to vote.
Senator Shelby says "very suspicious" how CBS and NYT conspired with the release of this story.
Maureen Dowd says Safire has been sprinkled with gorilla dust in Bushworld, oh isn't that cute.
Joe Biden says, "what difference does it make how CBS and the NYT planned to release this story, the question is "what happened to the explosives?" Shelby and Safire shoot Biden down, explaining to the idiot, "WE DON"T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED?"

I feel like such a "Negative Nellie", but Fox didn't even mention it in their news? Who doesn't have re-runs at this time of night?

What is funny is how perfectly times the President's timing was... He gave his remarks.. Condi Rice did radio interviews.. Bremmer on Brit's show... Gertz reporting the following day in the Washington Times. It's actually quite brilliant.

Any comments from the NYT, CBS or the Kerry Camp about this bit of news yet?? They already had their agenda and talking points distributed for the whole week..."right up to the election" and they just don't know how to switch gears.
aren't they still out there spewing their Sunday song?

I agree, The Russians are a big disappointment. Now with Beslan, maybe they will change their view. I seriously doubt it.

For me what Kerry and the media have done in this whole fiasco is encapsulated in the face of the soldier that spoke on Hannity and Colmes tonight. He was in the first division that spent 24 hours at Al QuaQua a week before the Airborne unit came through.
When you looked in that Private's eyes, and you heard his story that they did go through the barracks and there were no UN seals on any buildings. When I watched him fight back the tears as he explained how Kerry had maligned the soldiers that they did not do a good job and because of their inactions terrorists will kill innocent people. As he continued to speak and his eyes welled with tears and he spoke with such raw feeling I knew Kerry has done to our soldiers what he did to our Viet Nam Veterans. He has demeanded their sacrifice for their country. This action he has done in the last three days is as painful to them and will carry similar scars to our present day soldiers as those in from Viet Nam.
