Living in the people's republic of Illinois can get rough some days, living across the river from Davenport gives me an oppurtunity to see most of the presidental canidates but the press here is just horrible. The evening news is like opening the New York times... then my friend got this in the mail, scanned it and sent it to me...this just made me laugh.
Hey Baulkin, where do you live????
I just move to CO from Colona, IL. You think you've got it bad there, I live in a suburb of the extremely liberal Boulder,CO now. It is just awful right now.
Got to see W in Greeley,CO on Monday, but would much rather have been at the River Center yesterday. I miss home! Husband got a job in Boulder. Hope to be back in a year or two.
Somehow, that sample doesn't surprise me. How does it look for Zinga? Bad I suppose.
I live in Milan IL, This mail was sent to my best friend in Rock Island IL

Hey welcome Friend...I live very close to you.
I got the same garbage in the mail. Notice all those unopposed races? Pathetic huh?
But you know what...most people here are anti-abortion...pro-gun rights...pro-God...less taxes...
But they believe 1 thing that overrides everything else...they believe Republicans are only for the rich and the Democrats are for the working guy..the small guy. That's it.
FunnY stuff!!!! For people who can't think for themselves, obviously!
Since I'm often in your neighborhood, what is your take on all the yellow ribbon on cars that say "Pray for our Troops"? Bush or Kerry voters? I'm proudly driving around with my Bush/Cheney '04 sticker.
I live in Milan IL, this piece of mail is from Rock Island IL (about a mile from here).
Zinga's not doing to bad with the people I talk with. Mostly because she used to be on Television and alot of people know her. She was on Talk radio (WoC) a few weeks ago, did very well. But Evans always seems to win, even tho he can't communicate very well and is generally a jerk when ive seen him locally.
You hit the nail squarely on the head.
Being stuck out here in CO, but having fellow FReepers that are also fellow QCitians is a great comfort.
One good thing, at least CO will probably go Bush, IL on the other hand, well...enough said.
Oh yea it looks bad for Zinga. Even though the Rock Island Arsenal has lost thousands of jobs under Evans "followship" they think he is the best congressman in the world. GAG!
I like the ribbons personally, I dont see anything wrong with them. I think it's sorta funny that kids are stealing them and reselling them in the Quad Cities because there is a good market for them *chuckle*
What I meant was, do you think they represent Bush or Kerry voters?
This is feeling like a QC reunion for me. How's it going sarasota??? I've seen lots of your postings. Even responded to some in the past.
I dont think the yellow ribbons have much to do with party affiliation to be honest. This area is very patriotic, I mean have you seen the bush rallies in davenport? wow.. not everyone there is from Iowa, a large portion of those people are republicans crossing the river from IL.
I'm remaining calm in this election storm of ours. I lived in Colorado many years ago--Denver, Ft. Collins and Loveland. Loved it, especially my in-laws in Vail. QC is home base for me and it's amazing how little things change around here.
Evans has a loyal following in this area. He's not going to get my vote.
I'm in Longmont, thankfully, much more conservative than those nutballs down in Boulder. I wish I could say I love it, I don't. Maybe because I haven't been here long enought (since July) Love the weather though!!
I went to the rally in August. It was great! Missed his MOnday visit--didn't hear about it until all the tickets for the River Center were gone--only 3,000.
I dont understand why he does get the votes he does, he claims to be an advocate for keeping jobs out on arsonel island but we have lost jobs there... Seems like the blind leading the blind here.
