Any election day threat would probably suppress the vote in big cities, hurting Dems, because that's where we'd expect a terrorist act to occur. So that would make it hard for Bush to announce a threat, and if the threat did not materialize, the suppression of the Dem vote would raise a huge outcry.
Understood. But it's a classic "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenario. And it could happen with ANY president. But of course that's why we need to have someone we can have some degree of TRUST and CONFIDENCE in, regardless of his other views. Luckily for us, Bush outscores the pandering, desperate Kerry on this score, as well as on the "policy" score.
