With Election Day almost upon us, it's not clear whether President Bush is running a campaign or plotting a coup d'etat. By all accounts, Republicans are spending these last precious days devoting nearly as much energy to suppressing the Democratic vote as they are to mobilizing their own.
Time was when Republicans were at least embarrassed by their efforts to keep African Americans from the polls.

CNN/USAToday/Gallup reports that the president has a 5% lead nationally among likely voters nationwide. And the impact of another media meltdown over a false attack on the president has yet to register. All the spinning from the left is another indication of the desperation to duck the boomerang. Bottom line: U.N. bigs are trying to help John Kerry into the White House, and MSM is helping them help Kerry. That's not going to play well anywhere.
Then there's this story: Nine percent of voters have already voted! And they prefrred Bush over Kerry by 51% to 47%. ABC points out that this 4% Bush edge is within the margin of error, but the CNN/USAToday?Gallup oll is outside that margin, which akes you think that the national Bush lead is reflected in the early voting.
And where's Kerry? Blue state after blue state. Down to spinning colllapsed stories that signify nothing except MSM liberal bias in favor of lberal candidate Kerry.
Yeah, imagine that. Republicans wanting to make sure that only registered voters vote. What a scandal.
But nary a peep from Mr. Meyerson about Ed Rendell wanting to make sure that convicts in prison get to vote but not our military personnel serving overseas. Nah, no story there.

Suggestion: Everyone should take one of those cheap throwaway cameras with them to the polls and actually take or pretend to take pictures of the commies standing around with demonrat signs. Then inform them you're turning their picture over to your State Attorney General. Should be great fun! Get em all lathered up
Give me ONE example...JUST ONE.
The Dems portray efforts to prevent voter fraud by requiring ID and voting in the proper precinct as "suppressing the Black vote." If socially marginal Blacks can find the welfare office and the local KFC, they can find their correct precinct. If Meyerson thinks Blacks are too stupid to perform simple, adult functions, that's his problem.
What is clear to me is this: Affirmative action was basically an EO singed by president nixon in the 70's
When Bush is reelected he needs to sign a EO that simply says all voters participating in a federal election will be required to show ID.
That would get the leftists even more lathered. Slathered even. Rabid. I voted for such a law (prop 200 I think) (absentee-AZ) a few weeks ago.
I'm so sick of this line from the Dems. I will personally drive any African-American who asks me to the polls on election day. They have to figure out how to punch the ballot all by themselves though. Is that OK, Mr. Democrat or am I suppressing their vote?

I can't see how anybody could object to efforts to rein in vote fraud. A fraudulent vote negates a real vote. Nothing is more poisonous to our representative democracy than vote fruad.
May want to watch those "welfare office and local KFC" comments. Don't want to give the Dims ammo, because they're here watching our every move.
