KERRY SPOT
Jim Miklaszewski of NBC News pretty much dismantled the New York Times attack on behalf of Kerry today.
NBC News: Miklaszewski: April 10, 2003, only three weeks into the war, NBC News was embedded with troops from the Army's 101st Airborne as they temporarily take over the Al Qakaa weapons installation south of Baghdad. But these troops never found the nearly 380 tons of some of the most powerful conventional explosives, called HMX and RDX, which is now missing. The U.S. troops did find large stockpiles of more conventional weapons, but no HMX or RDX, so powerful less than a pound brought down Pan Am 103 in 1988, and can be used to trigger a nuclear weapon. In a letter this month, the Iraqi interim government told the International Atomic Energy Agency the high explosives were lost to theft and looting due to lack of security. Critics claim there were simply not enough U.S. troops to guard hundreds of weapons stockpiles, weapons now being used by insurgents and terrorists to wage a guerrilla war in Iraq. (NBCs Nightly News, 10/25/04)
If Jill Abramson, managing editor of the New York Times, had a shred of concern over her paper's reputation for getting the facts right never mind objectivity or fairness, she would be running the correction - or at least this blatantly contradictory information - in the giant headline font and above-the-fold location that today's story got. But I guess the interest in echoing the sentiments of Maureen Dowd is more important than getting it right at the Old Gray Lady.
Ten bucks says their next "bombshell" was going to link this missing cache with the IED's being used against our soldiers...to directly place the blood of our soldiers on Bush's hands in an attempt to drive away votes. Just a thought.
I can't find this story on the Internet except on Drudge.
Shouldn't NBC have this story linked on their nightly news?
The newsman was Miklaszewski the Pentagon correspondant, but I don't see anything.
Does anyone have a link?
LOL, I know I was here reading till 2 am! Suffering today because of it. I'm trying to finish housework (preparing for company tomorrow for 2 wks)and I can't get anything done! It's all YA'S fault! Hey, you know something weird is up in Hawaii when we have thunderstorms which is happenig right now; could this mean a possible win for Bush in Hawaii!? (giggling)
I'm getting to love this stuff!
But RDX and presumably the other, have a higher detonation velocity. Which is why they are used in bombs, shells and warheads and dynamite no longer is.
more than one way to skin a monkey - or get conservative news out on liberal stations...and force them to tell the truth after. ..on a venue where the libs are watching .. They know they've been had, by now- they must have smoke coming out their ears.
'tis a good night
Mark was on FIRE and really gave O'Donnell "the treatment" earlier tonight. It was music to my ears.Unfortunately,Mark isn't on many stations, though he's one of THE best there is.
I say all of us FReepers dig deep into our pockets and purchase a full page ad in the Slimes with a big retraction and explanation of the hit job the times tried to pull. A full page in the slimes goes for about 100K. We can do it...any thoughts?

If you go to this link there is a box with David Kay's picture on it half way down. There's a link to Jim M.'s story. You can get a video feed of it.
"Mmmm that Koolaid tastes good"...."Buuuuushhhh Liiieeed".
'Oh man I wish I could hear all that...I so, so, so want Lawrence O'Donnell to...well I'm just too nice a person to type what I am thinking! But God knows and he likes me alot!! Yes, child is fine..broken finger! Ouch..'
at the end of the show tonight, Pat Buchanan read a statement from msnbc apologizing for Larry O:"Donnell's terrible behavior, and that he has been spoken to, so that the viewers will not be subjected to that again.
better than nothing, I guess....

DU -just booted me today -I only lasted several days under cover!
It was hard to 'pretend' by both omission and neutrality that I was one of 'them'... -something I posted must have had some exclusively heterosexual backbone and or truth to it -dunno?
lol
If you hear thunder, it's just Kerry's numbers plunging in the polls. LMAO!
Al Qaqa all over the dems
I saw a poll on Fox News 49 Bush 49 Kerry!
Kerry is losing more base!
Kerry camp is so pathetic. Kerry was ranting and raving about President Bush's biggest blunder yet. Funny thing is that if there had been all these munitions wouldn't that have amounted to weapons of mass destruction which Kerry said never existed in the first place and that GWB had lied about? This is so ridiculous.
