KERRY SPOT
Jim Miklaszewski of NBC News pretty much dismantled the New York Times attack on behalf of Kerry today.
NBC News: Miklaszewski: April 10, 2003, only three weeks into the war, NBC News was embedded with troops from the Army's 101st Airborne as they temporarily take over the Al Qakaa weapons installation south of Baghdad. But these troops never found the nearly 380 tons of some of the most powerful conventional explosives, called HMX and RDX, which is now missing. The U.S. troops did find large stockpiles of more conventional weapons, but no HMX or RDX, so powerful less than a pound brought down Pan Am 103 in 1988, and can be used to trigger a nuclear weapon. In a letter this month, the Iraqi interim government told the International Atomic Energy Agency the high explosives were lost to theft and looting due to lack of security. Critics claim there were simply not enough U.S. troops to guard hundreds of weapons stockpiles, weapons now being used by insurgents and terrorists to wage a guerrilla war in Iraq. (NBCs Nightly News, 10/25/04)
If Jill Abramson, managing editor of the New York Times, had a shred of concern over her paper's reputation for getting the facts right never mind objectivity or fairness, she would be running the correction - or at least this blatantly contradictory information - in the giant headline font and above-the-fold location that today's story got. But I guess the interest in echoing the sentiments of Maureen Dowd is more important than getting it right at the Old Gray Lady.
I like it L0L
At 5pm they were claiming 100,000
However, at 11pm .. I don't remember them mentioning it
They barely even mentioned that rally tonight .. no interviews with people on the street either ..
The Football game is on now so I'll have to check ABC News6 later and see what they have to say
L0L, it sure does lainie
MANY of us figured it all immediately and all on our own.
I was one.
I love this quote:
top Bush official e-mailed DRUDGE late Monday: "Let me get this straight, are Mr. Kerry and Mr. Edwards now saying we did not go into Iraq soon enough? We should have invaded and liberated Iraq sooner?"
(AFP/Hector Mata)
I just got a canned reply..here is what I said in my email
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Well, I will await an apology from You people at the NYT, in tomorrows paper.
And, Senator Kerry used your headliner in todays speech...did he get an advanvce copy, or what?
Anything is okay with you all to bring down George Bush.
But, it backfired, didn't it?
Looks like the OLD GRAY Lady has Alzheimer's.
Or - Attempting to butt cover? If the UN gets outed all the way with it's connections/dealings with Saddam,,,and K's fingers are sticky too - (there are long time ties with Annan, then there's the KLA terrorist group, etc.) So it may not just be that he's clueless, but scared stiff about what might well surface???
Just to interject here, Fox reported 100,000 but I also heard on Rush today that Andrea Mitchell reported that the reason there were so many people was because the government employees were told to take afternoon off and go to rally.
She also mentioned that that is against the law (Hatch bill).
Another star is born?
Cheers
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Just sent a post to that addy
Top Kerry adviser Joe Lockhart fired back: "In a shameless attempt to cover up its failure to secure 380 tons of highly explosive material in Iraq, the White House is desperately flailing in an effort to escape blame. Instead of distorting John Kerrys words, the Bush campaign is now falsely and deliberately twisting the reports of journalists. It is the latest pathetic excuse from an administration that never admits a mistake, no matter how disastrous."
Says he as he packs his bags at the strong suggestion of John F'ng Kerry who isn't buying the BS he's spewing.
I love Peggy Noonan - never watch CNN. What did he say to Peggy?
Yawn . . . this is old news to me . . . Listen to Rush and you'd have learned this almost 12 hours ago.
We all knew this was an old story. The Brilliant part of this is NBC having to dispute it. Can't argue with the ol' LMSM! ahahahaha!
Isn't that what Kerry got caught on when he put on that Bunny Suit at NASA ??
No good news for Bush, no bad news for Kerry
NBC NEWS will get a beating from the left becauze of this.
LOL,,,, Priceless, that picture that comes to mind, when I think about your word picture.
