Then you deliver the killing blow, "During times of war the country is supposed to help out" (cleverly recalling the sacrificial WWII generation), which can only serve to remind anyone with a functioning memory that the *only* thing left has done since 9/11 is PROTEST THE WAR AND COMPARE BUSH TO HITLER!
