I like Alamogordo...the first stealth fighter I ever saw was there.:o) Coming down the mountain to Alamo from CloudCroft is absolutely beautiful. Sounds like Dubya connects with the folks there.

BTW, quiz time: How many nuclear tests were conducted here in NM??

Three:

Trinity- July 16, 1945

Nougat Gnome- December 10, 1961
Gasbuggy- December 10, 1967

When I was in New Mexico earlier this year, I took the Trinity tour and also drove out to Gnome. I couldn't get to Gasbuggy as the roads going out to it were so bad (due to an insane amount of rain) that 4x4 trucks had to use chains so they wouldn't get stuck.

Three. The original test, one near Carlsbad in 1961 and near Farmington in 1967. The latter two were, of course, underground.

Yes it is. I'd love to live in either Alamogordo or Cloudcroft one day.

I think this visit was done as a re-schedule after Edwards or Kerry made a stop there. Since you know something about the crowds in N.Mex. can you compare this with the Dem crowd earlier?
