I've finally figured this out. The media operates under a modified political version of Newton's Third Law of Motion, i.e. for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Whenever the rats do something vile, the Republicans have to have done something just as heinous. It's a Law of Nature. So the media always allows the rat mouthpiece to blame both sides.

Just because the media can't find the Republican reaction doesn't mean it never happened. We're just to clever for them. You see this in operation on a daily basis on O'Reilly's show, where he always blames both sides equally.

You're right on the money! I've also noticed in the Old Media that approximately one fifth of the time will be given to reporting the vandalism and four fifths will be allowed to the Dem sockpuppet to excuse it. The excuse, of course, is always some variant of "they did it first" or "they did it too."
