You don't run "through" a pitcher who isn't blocking the first baseline. That's a cheapass move that is worthy of "girlieman" contempt. As tiringly usual, an active contingent of Freepers have everything exactly bassackward. Rodriguez tried to "inadvertantly" knock the ball out of Arroyo's glove, but his gambit was too obvious and illegal, and life goes on.

God, I hope St. Louis wins this thing.

I saw the play and Arroyo was running across the base line when Arod veered right and swiped the ball out. He could of correctly just kept going straight and knocked Arroyo down!
