ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- College students say they are much more interested in politics this year, more likely to identify with a party and more likely to vote, a new Harvard University study shows.

And it appears a majority of those responding to the survey intend to vote for Sen. John Kerry.

The Harvard University Institute of Politics surveyed students across the country in October.

The institute began tracking students' political leanings in 2000. Since then, there have been some remarkable changes.

a. This is CNN reporting, based on ...

b. Harvard University Institute of Politics polling, and

c. Kerry has long had the "stupid" demographic locked up.

But I wouldn't give this report a lot of credence.

Most college students lean liberal? Like that's a surprise considering the indoctrination they receive in college. They usually don't swing back until they move out on their own, get a job and pay taxes.

"18-29 demographic is strongly trending Bush."

Hope you're right. But I'm responding because I've meant to say something for some time now: I do not think 18-year-olds should have the vote. Period. I would even back a test for voting--basic stuff, who's your senator, how many original colonies, why is jesse jackson bad for america? you know.

I have to confess, my political outlook follows your post. Dang, I was stupid.

As Churchill once stated, "If you're not a liberal when you're young, you have no heart. If you're not conservative when you're old, you have no head."

One of the many dumb moves mae by Nixon was granting the vote to college age Americans.

They are hardly "moving" towards Kerry. They were and alwys will be, part and parcel of the leftist, anti-American war machine.

Nothing new here, nothing changed.

Hahaha. Great idea. But totally unrealistic because it would "disenfranchise" the stupid vote that he DemonRats get.

I don't believe that article. I think there are lots of Evangelical Christians in public universities. I think the vocal loons give the impression of left leading students. I just don't buy that the majority are like that.

But without the young and stupid vote and the old, crochety and stupid vote, where, besides the graveyards and insane asylums, would the dems. get their votes?

Evangelical Christians

I've heard alot about these folks, who didnt vote, by the millions, in 2000. I don't buy it however. Hey, I hope I am wrong, believe me, but I dont hang my hopes on such reports..

And it appears a majority of those responding to the survey intend to vote for Sen. John Kerry.

THOSE WHO RESPONDED TO A SURVEY, NOT A SCIENTIFIC POLL, BUT A VOLUNTARY SURVEY!!! Pay attention folks, I can create a voluntary survey that shows the majority of people believe John Kerry is the love child of Momma Katz and John Belushie, if I worded it right and mailed it to the right people.

One of the many dumb moves mae by Nixon was granting the vote to college age Americans.

Well Nixon really didn't do it since we amended the Constitution to give 18 year olds the right to vote. Thay is a process for Congress and the states. The reason it was done was since 18 year olds could be drafted and sent to die for their country, it was felt that they should have the right to vote for who they wanted to lead this country.
