Example of IQ of Kerry Supporters (this will make you smile)
Marietta (GA) Daily Journal (Atlanta suburb) ^ | Oct. 20, 2004 | Jean Durham

Posted on 10/20/2004 11:34:36 AM PDT by campfollower

DEAR EDITOR:

Lie and deny all you want, but every single death resulting from Iraq's invasion was caused by and is squarely at the feet of George W. Bush. Bush is not known for being smart; he is, however, well known for being stubborn. There is nothing admirable in his avowal to "stay the course" in Iraq. He has no choice. There can be no turning back now, much less sending the troops home. The die was cast by Bush soon after he took office when he was so determined to invade Iraq because "it was easy."

How on earth is it possible to declare that Bush's complete destruction and on-going reconstruction of the small country of Iraq that has cost thousands of American and Iraqi lives plus billions of taxpayer dollars and that posed absolutely no threat is the "end-all" war against terrorism? At the time of the invasion, the Islamic terrorists had no ties whatsoever to Iraq; they were and are free-lancers who can and do pop up anywhere, as they did on 9/11.

While Bush was sacrificing the lives of our troops, these particular terrorists waltzed around in our country with no opposition whatsoever, spread out and brazenly entered various flight schools, asked for and received lessons to "fly a plane only," with improper and incomplete paperwork. When an Arizona flight school warned Washington, it was blatantly ignored. Would it not be reasonable to assume that, if the warning had been followed up, investigated and alerts sent out to other flight schools, that these terrorists would have been exposed, routed and 9/11 prevented?

Another question for the Bushite know-alls: Even if and when order is restored to some degree in Iraq, how on earth can it possibly serve as a shining example of democracy, as Bush and followers are parroting, so that North Korea, Iran and all the terrorists will lay down their arms and peace and goodwill will reign over the Middle East and entire world? Let's get real, here.

I only seek sensible, level-headed explanations; spare me, please, of all the name-calling and attempts at cleverness such as letter-writer Larry T.'s suggestion that when I look at a doughnut, I only see a hole." Mr. T, the hole I see has nothing to do with a doughnut; it is the bottomless pit Bush has dug for us.

Jean L. Durham

Kennesaw

Editor's note: The Sept. 11 terror attacks referenced by Ms. Durham took place prior to the invasion of Iraq, not afterward.I have seen the highs and lows in our school system. I have now seen an all-time low.

This woman is a frequent contributor to the letters column and regularly spouts that she supports the troops, then disparages any families of servicemembers who write in support of Bush. At one time suggesting that yours truly was not qualified to comment unless I got off my "fat a## and enlisted." She's a true gem, showing today how out of touch with reality....

"it was easy."

This totally contradicts everything the author says. If it was so easy, then why is this idiot whining and complaining?

If it insn't then why are the terrorists flooding into Iraq and fighting tooth and nail for us to get out?

As if somehow a handfull of DUmmies not watching makes it all go away. Kind of like when you were a child and hid your eyes, assuming the world couldn't see you since you couldn't see them.

Sadly, there are many people with whom a rational discussion is NOT possible. Their minds are closed. It's a waste of breath to talk to them, or try to analyze their arguments. Like trying to discuss politics with someone speaking Cantonese..

Pardon me, darlin', but I believe these events occurred on your beloved Bill "Slick Willy" Clinton's watch.

It looks like a mistake on the formatting of the page in the postscript-- it looks like the first line is an editor's comment, then the succeeding line begins the second letter on the page. There are similar errors down the page.

The editor wasn't calling the writer an idiot, but Lord knows he should have.

Hussein was such a REAL nice dictator that he put his own people (men, women and children) in jail where he tortured the life out of them. Such a real nice person that he had and was developing WMDs. The Iraqi fanatics are such real nice people that they think nothing of kidnapping and beheading anyone they choose. Yeah, Hussein and his supporters are real nice joes that anyone could invite them in and entertain them for dinner. (BIG SARC)
