Did anyone just watch "Decisions That Shook the World", on The Discovery Channel?

Did anyone just see this? It was about Reagan and the Cold War. Basically it went through the history of his presidency and his dealings with the Soviets. It put him and his efforts in a very good light.

I'm 26, so I barely remember the last term of his presidency, and nothing from his firt term. I was struck by all the similarities of then and today.

You could superimpose the anti-war protestors of then, and put them in NYC today, and not see any difference. He was often accused of being a war monger and a cowboy. It's amazing how he proved the Media and pacifists wrong.

Everything he achieved was because of his stubborness, resolve, and his belief in his own way of doing things, and he was right.

This is a very good lesson to learn. I am old enough to remember the Reagan years, and what I rember most clearly is actually not what he said about any particular thing, but how the left reacted like the world was going to end every time he opened his mouth.

Several times in the last year I have heard comments like, "we are so polarized now, more so than ever before." This is simply wrong, it is no different now than in the 80's or probably the 60's, although that would be before my time too. The left doesn't ever change much, they just hibernate for a while when the Democrats have power.

It seems like the vocal protest portion of the left operates on a 20 year cycle. The period is just long enough for a generation of young protestors to be proven wrong and then indoctrinate the next generation of peaceniks.

When Reagan was President, I was a democrat.

I don't remember much about him then. But now, I read all I can about him.

To my surprise..he was a great president.

Yes, this was an outstanding overall look at, and testimony to, Reagan's vision. It was surprising in its honesty.

And another thing is that somebody (Deaver?) in the piece commented on Reagan's depth of understanding of the evil personified in the Soviet imperialistic force. In that same vein, Bush understands, as Kerry seems not to, that we are facing something truly evil, not just a nuisance. "By their works you shall know them". The terrorists work evil deeds. They are not a nuisance, but an evil menace, and one that must be fought to the death.

You are me only in a different dimension. Our paths can never cross or the universe will implode in a fraction of a second.

Stay away!

(oh yeah, I NEVER watch the MSM... haven't in years. A small TV is right on the corner of the desk so I can do both at once.)

"He was often accused of being a war monger and a cowboy"

The media hasn't changed one bit. They still call the Republicans the same tired names, and half of the American people believe every word.
