I guess phonetically, the verb "to lose" is pronounced as if it has 2 o's (looze) but spelled as if it is pronounced, "lows."

I think it confuses those who use English as a second language.

Like me... The fact that english isn't phonetic has been a problem since I started studying it when I was 11... I have learned a lot since, but I still think Professor Higgins had a point...
