Hello--I voted today and it felt great. Straight Republican ballot with a big NO on all the tax increases and a very big NO on the amendment that wants to tinker with Colorado's electoral votes. I went at about 2:00 p.m. When I first went in, I saw a huge line. Turns out this was a line for "Community Support"--government "freebies" I imagine. The voter room was down the hall and the line only had a few people in it with many more at the voting machines. It only took me a couple of minutes to proudly cast my ballot for President and VP of 2 terms--George Walker Bush and Richard Cheney. There is no excuse except for coma why any conservative person wouldn't be voting in this election.
I voted early today in Austin, TX. In the belly of the beast. I waited about 45 minutes. Two guys left the line because it was moving so slowly. I'm pretty sure I was the only Republican there. Processing went a bit slow as they confirmed my registration on computer, stickered my name, and had me sign the register. Received a ballot code and off to the terminal I went.
Everything seemed to go A-OK. Glad that's over and done with. George has Texas locked up, but I hope Lord Doggett (D) loses in the Congressional race.
Good report. I wonder what the other line was all about. Perhaps an attempt to discourage others from putting off voting?
I was going to go after work, but I ended up working late and didn't get much sleep. I'll be voting in about seven hours from now.
