Thanks for the ping, prairie. When am I going to start thinking so deviously that I start considering all this stuff is linked to the DNC or some leftist group? You'd think I would learn by now. LOL
Citizen Soldier, a New York-based, nonprofit military rights group, has offered ... its help.
Whenever I see a group with the word "rights" in it I get alarmbells going off.
I love it when I'm right

Precisely.
It's not the members, per se.
It's the unions, themselves.
Unfortunately , most guards have to join the unions because without "union protection", countless inmate lawsuits, unjustified firings and everything imaginable can "happen" to a guy.
They're caught between a rock and hard place.
I would like to deal with them by taking them out behind a nice big woodshed!
I hope you are right. I work on a College campus where so many people accept NPR as the truth handed down from God... except they don't believe in God. I can just imagine how NPR is trying to turn this into the cause of the month.
This is the trap we're all in. We all know of some corruption or wrong that is going on, that even victimizes us, but we're also confronted with the likelihood that if we stand up to the "bad guys" we'll get our heads handed to us.
It's easy for me to say, but what is required is for the folks involved to stand up and say "no." Think of "On The Waterfront" and other stories like that.
Fortunately, unilike in the past, folks who do this have an avenue to call for "the cavalry." We're here. There are other "guilds and unions" to call on for support. Within a community like FreeRepublic there will be voices and powers that can be brought to bear to break the power of these oligarchys.
I claim a phrase from the left as our own.
The People, United, Will Never Be Defeated.
Build your base. Organize. Organize. Organize.
The lessons of the left are not to be scorned. The elites can and will be defeated by their own arrogance. What will shock them is when the realize that they are the "bad guys."
Long live the revolution! (Irony, I love it)
Misty, Thanks for the ping!
Good Lord, this thuggish behavior is so typical of the liberals. I'm glad you're not letting them intimidate you. Good for you.
We will be The Men In The Walls. Look for it. Author William Tenn. It was serialized in 1963 under that title, then pubhlished in 1969 as Of Men and Monsters.
Also try and find a copy of Taylor Caldwell's The Devils Advocate. No, it has nothing to do with Al Pacino or Keanu Reeves.
Really, this next does make sense, at least in spirit:
Wanted fan in Luna City, wanted fan on Dune and Down,
Wanted fan at Ophiuchus, wanted fan in Dydee-town.
All across the sky they want me, am I fattered?
Yes I am!
If I could just reach orbit, then I'd be a wanted fan.
"Wanted fan for mining coal and wanted fan for drilling oil,
I went very fast through Portland, hunted hard like Gully Foyle.
Built reactors in Seattle against every man's advice,
Couldn't do that in Alaska, Fonda says it isn't nice.
"Wanted fan for plain sedition, like the singing of this tune.
If NASA hadn't failed us wed have cities on the moon.
If it weren't for f***ing NASA we'd at least have walked on Mars.
And if I can't make orbit, then I'll never reach the stars.
"Nader's Raiders want my freedom, OSHA wants my scalp and hair,
If I'm wanted in Wisconsin, be damned sure I won't be there!
If the E-P-A still wants me, I'll avoid them if I can.
They're tearing down the cities, so I'll be a wanted fan!
"Wanted fan on Chthon and Sparta and the Hub's ten million stars,
Wanted fan for singing silly in a thousand spaceport bars.
If it's what we really want, we'll build a starship when we can;
If I could just make orbit then I'd be a wanted fan.
"Wanted fan for building spacecraft, wanted fan for dipping air,
Sending microwave transmissions, building habitats up there.
Oh the glacier got us last time, next time we'll try to land!
And when the Ice is conquered, it'll be by wanted fans.
And when the stars are conquered, it'll be by wanted fans!"
Lily Tomlin created my favorite quote: "No matter how cynical I become, I can't keep up."
Somehow we have to organize. Several years ago when I was working on the computer system at our local Republican headquarters (setting up their database), I ran across several (MANY) erroneous registration entries. I knew them to be erroneous because one was my mother's and others were friends of mine. I was also asked to make a number of phone calls to get out the vote and found that a great number of the entries were flat wrong. People who hadn't lived at an address in years were still listed as voting there. Many of them.
What I think we should do is volunteer a lot of time for the Republicans and try to verify all of the voting records ourselves. Start contacting people to find out if their registration is valid, as them to get records on their voting history, etc. If we organize, I don't see why we can't go precinct by precinct, city by city, state by state to unravel and expose all of the errors and any discovered fraud.
You're welcome!
No. I suspect the new sign will really pi$$ them off! LOL! My uncle is worried that they will break the picture windows out. I hope not, but even if they did I would put up the sign!
HA! Missy! You are the last person I would ever think of as cynical. But I do like the quote and understand why you like it. :o)
I have been wondering what was going to be the ploy this year to outrage African-Americans so they would go to the polls and vote 92% for Kerry.
What was going to be this year's NAACP chain dragging ad in 2000, this year's equivalent of the church burning hoax in 1996?
People on this thread are concerned that this "mutiny" is a Democrat set up destined to be the "October surprise."
Now I'm wondering if it is actually intended as the basis of an outrageous ad by the NAACP...just use the picture in the reference post and use your imagination.
You know what they need, right? hahaha
Man, you are a true freeper, aren't you? lol
Bump!
BUMP for the Monday morning crew.
