My feeling is that we should be prosecuting people for crimes against human beings, regardless of the victim's race, religion, sexual orientation, etc...to add extra penalties for being a racist demeans the victim who was killed simply for being in the wrong place at the wrong time and is basically "thoughtcrime"...do anti-semites who spray swastikas on their victims doors deserve a heavier punishment than, say, the creeps who sprayed a swastika (with weed killer) in the yard of a family with a Bush/Cheney sign up? Isn't vandalism vandalism?

Well, then I think you delve into a tricky area.

Spraying swastikas is a hate crime. I would like to point out again that just because someone doesn't agree with U.S.-Israeli realtions/policy doesn't make them anti-Semitic. If the person didn't agree with the policy and sprayed swastikas, then its a hate crime.

Swastikas on Bush/Cheney signs? Well, that is pretty stupid. There is no one on this earth who can equate Nazism to Bush. Give me a break!

Motivation is the key word here. A sicko who kills people to get some sort of wierd satisfaction has a different motive than a woman or man who kills because someone is going to kill them (self defense).

My point about what I said earlier is that I don't believe that ANY group should have a whole law/bill passed by our government being singled out for what I see is extra protection.

Equal justice under the law is what it is supposed to be about, but we know that isn't the case. Some people believe there are reasons to support Israel, and for some there are reasons we should start distancing ourselves from Israel that have nothing to do with terrorist threats.

Whatever the case (muslim, jewish, etc.) I would like to know where the ACLU is preventing such a bill from being passed.

They better get ready to start an anti-Christian bill, which by the way Christianity is under horrendous attack especially recently.

If you walk into a predominantly jewish or muslim neighborhood carring a large Crucifix, I bet the look you
would get would send you up in smoke.

Tolerance...this is something muslims don't have. It is not
in their nature to be tolerant of ANYONE who isn't muslim.

Having said that, and the fact that this is a Judeo-Christian founded country, I cannot see why muslims are here except to disrupt, and they are doing a lot.

Also, throw the U.N. out of this country. What a waste of space.

I really do welcome anyone elses opinoin.
