I listened mostly also (headphones while I cleaned house, hubby had baseball playing) and came to many of your same conclusions: Bush sounded energetic and down to earth; Kerry the statistic-spewing robot. I didn't like that Bush appeared to be often on the defense, though he played the position well.

One thing no one has mentioned up to now, but Bush is clearly out of the closet with his Christian faith. No triangulating, no weasel words - just out and out profession of Christianity's core beliefs. It's clear that Bush has decided that the evangelical vote will decide this election and is doing all in his power to pitch to them and he doesn't care if he offends the gays, pro abortionists, MSM types or Hollywood atheist's by doing so.
